Need some clarification on a few points please!

1. We are planning to travel from Beijing to Moscow with several stopoffs. If we book accommodation in Irkutsk (first stop) and register our visa there, do we need to re-register it at each stopover, or will it then be registered for the duration of our visa (i.e. 30 days?)

2. When we apply for our Russian visa in Beijing (UK passports), is it true that they don't need to keep our passports while processing? [i.e. can we apply for Mongolian visa as the same time?]

3. Is it a problem if we arrive in Russia after the date stated on our visas? (i.e. if our visa states entry date as 1/10, can we arrive on 3/10?)

1. Legally it's not clear whether you should register in every city or only in the first one you stop. Practically, it's better to have a registration in the city where you are likely to be checked -- that is, Moscow and St. Petersburg. So, I would recommend to register in the first city you stop for longer than 3 days and then try to register in Moscow (it can be done at the office of the company that issued your visa support letter).

2. Don't know about that -- the rules change quite often.

3. It's not a problem -- you must travel within the time period specified in your visa.
