Anyone any ideas for presents for people living in Russia?
What can I get in the UK that is not available in Russia, or is cheaper in the UK than Russia?
Any ideas welcome from £10 to £500 for males and/or females with ages from 19-66. The only real limitation is that I must be able to take them on a plane, along with the normal luggage!

And who was that bastard who suggested gifting toilet paper the other time? I hope we remembered to ban you!
I suggest you shop for your presents in some stores that have their own brands and have not opened in Russia yet like Harrods, Marks and Spencer, The Body Shop etc. That is in addition to the ton of stuff you can get in the tourist shops... keychains, t-shirts etc. don't take a lot of space, and are something unique to your country.
Food products are often well-received by everyone as they are perishables and will only last as long as an airplane trip. Oh, I'm seeing them now. I am craving from Harrods' tea, teacakes from Marks & Spencer...
Ladies typically like perfumes and scented shower/bath stuff.
Guys--well, you know--electronics, timepieces etc.
Kids--toys, sweets, chocolate. |

Mediashark,
Sorry honey but the tp is quite harsh. When we were in Piter, the hotel tp was like sand paper. My poor husband could hardly wipe his ass! And he is far from a spoiled, complaining brat! So tp while is may be an unusual gift, just might be appreciated by some Russians. |

Good (and really good) tp is available in shops, and not for that much money either. Just that the hotels want to cut corners and give you rough tracing paper.
Well if you think a Russian family would appreciate you lugging bulky rolls of tp, go ahead and gift tp at your own risk... |

A lot of older people seem to really enjoy T-Shirts with something unique to wherever your from.
As for the TP, i just try to think of it as a product that exfoliates my ass while cleaning it |

I'm really asking if it was a good choice rather than suggesting - Since my father works at Kennedy Space Center, and I have worked there in the past, I asked him to pick me up some patches and pins from our space program, especially from missions with Russians onboard, missions to Mir, etc. I thought they would be "cool" to start with, and I thought it'd be nice to give something showing Russian/Soviet-American cooperation as well.
Good choice or bad? |
