I plan to travel in Vlodivostok & Irkutsk for a week, and will be alone. Is it safe to travel alone there? I heard that there are a lot of robbers there. Can anyone give me some advice?

Frankly, the Far East isn't one of the safest places in Russia. If you are not an experienced traveller, beware. Better hook up with some locals or guides there.

During the day is pretty safe, as long as your stay aware of your surroundings and don't find yourself in the wrong part of town.
