I don't want to see him buried only because I would like to see him myself. How selfish that might sound

Okay...I've only been on this board for a short time, and this is the second post concerning this issue. The powers that be are actually considering this?

Yes! they should absolutely bury Lenin. You shouldn't deny a man's wishes, especially after he has died.

That being said, they should wait until next fall at least so that I can have time to view him in all his waxy glory! Very Happy

I don't how this is an important issue. Who cares about a body of the dead dictator? Whether they bury him or not, there are other much more important issues in Russia today.

Maybe NOT as far as WTR is concerned Wink I stick to my opinion in the other 'bury lenin!' thread. As for his wishes: I have no idea what they were, and i don't think bryak does..
It seems likely to me that Lenin would have been comfortable with the 'revolutionary' way in which he was made into a monument for communism. He's lying there, slowly decaying (well.. can it be otherwise?) like a modernist Pharao. It's beautiful.
Anyways: His tomb is an historical significant object and a landmark. As such, it needs to be protected from the undertakers...

I heard that before he died Lenin expressed that he wanted to be buried next to his mother. Of course I heard that from an Englishman, but he seemed to know what he was talking about.
