| Perhaps for a career in business dealing with Russian or as an interpreter. Someones gotta speak Russian besides Russians. It's a global world we live in. I was in Russia for 3 weeks earlier this year on an adoption trip and I wished I spoke more Russian than I do. You'd be surprised how few people speak English in Moscow. |

Believe me Russian is widespread language in Europe and Asia! In London I met with people from Azerbaijan, Lithuania and Byelorussia. They communicated with each other on Russian. Russian is Slavonic language so people from West Europe can understand it too (Czech Rep, Poland). I was in Beijing – a lot of people there know Russian, because they studied in Russian universities. And of course most of the people from former USSR speak Russian.

Do it, Alaambak. Russian is a very interesting language. And you wil have a chance to read Pushkin and Tchekov in their own words. I wish I could do the same.
Bonne chance.... |
