Hello i have recently recieved my VISA to come to Russia this winter and i have a quick airport question. My flight lands in Paris France at 8:25AM and the plane to Moscow leaves Paris at 9:35am, Do you think i can make this flight?? Or should i switch the departing time to 1:00 to be safe? I dont like waiting for long periods of time but the only other choice is 3hour wait when i could be there 3 hours quicker. What should i do? Does anyone know the Paris Ch. De Gaulle airport telephone number to contact?? Its a risky decision but i want some opionons, PLEASE RESPOND SOON I WANT TO PURCHASE THESE TICKETS TOMORROW!!

My flight is about the same on the 30th of december, if there is not enough time to make your connection then I would assume you would end up on the next flight out, but I don't know exactly and I was worried about that myself, 50 minutes is really cutting it close.

yeah its given me 1 hour 10 minutes, but i dont know how far i have to travel in these 70 minutes. Maybe it is in the same terminal maybe not, maybe its a 5 minute walk maybe i will be walkin there for a hour. PLUS the wait in lines and it can be in different terminals. Im worried but i need some opinions to help me. I dont speak no french and i am traveling alone so hopefully someone can help me out.

It seems here of late, the airlines are cutting it to close between flights, especially international flights.
Before Delta added the non-stop from Atlanta to Moscow, I always had to go through JFK in New York, then on to Atlanta.
I like at least a 2.5 hour lay over between such flights. The last trip through JFK I had a 2.5 hour layover....we left Moscow on time and got to JFK 1 hour before my next flight to Atlanta.
Only one xray machine, two 767-300 unloading at the same time, waiting on luggage...35 minutes to clear customs and catch my next flight.
If it hadn't of been for a lot of fine understanding people letting me go to the front of the line...I would probably have gotten to spend the night in JFK.
If you really want a nightmare, go through Paris (nothing against the French people now)...you need at least a 5 hour layover just to find out if you actually landed in Paris or on another planet.
I would be scared of a one hour layover going through any airport now days.

I just looked and mine is even worse, I land at 08:50 and depart at 09:35. Thats just rediculous, no way I will make my flight or at best I will leave without my luggage being transferred. I damn sure don't want to be stuck in Moscow without a change of clothes. This trip is not going so well Sad

I am going through Paris also, they do sometimes hold the flights up for connections, of course that means a delay for everyone.
I am arriving in terminal E and departing terminal C.

Then most likely, you're in a heap of trouble getting to your next flight on time.
The last time I went through Paris, I had to go to the next terminal also, had 1.5 hours and still didn't make it.
I wish you the best and maybe you'll be ok.

Ok guys, I found this for you on another site.
I copied and pasted it for you.

PARIS (CDG) (Contributed by Jothnthan C.)
"September 2005 - My experience with Paris CDG is to avoid it all costs...many folks miss their connecting flights because they did not factor in the extra long time needed to negotiate through this airport.

Without a doubt, avoid Paris.

CDG in Paris is the *worst* airport I have ever experienced. Not only are the Atlantic flights often in different terminals (or at different ends of the same terminal) than the connecting European flights, it is *very* common for arriving and departing aircraft to park at a remote part of the airfield. A shuttle bus then takes passengers from the aircraft to the terminal building. In my opinion, two hours - MINIMUM - would be required for a connecting flight.

I went from JFK to CDG to SVO a few years ago and, of course, the flight into CDG was late. I was really concerned about making the connection. Fortunately the flight from Paris to Moscow was also delayed, but my luggage didn't make the connecting flight.

Air France was of ZERO help in trying to get me from one side of the airport to the other. I will never fly into CDG again unless I happen to be going to Paris. As somebody else has already noted, Delta offers direct flights from Atlanta and JFK. I'm taking a Delta flight out of JFK in a few weeks and really appreciate the fact that there is no intl connection.

I'd change the flight no matter what...!

Good post danbrew...I've had the same experiences as you in Paris.
I'll also NOT fly to Paris and have to transfer, nor will I fly AIR FRANCE again.
You can get to your destination and maybe have to pay more, but the extra cost is well worth it when you've had your butt hung out to dry in an airport like CDG in Paris where everyone is rude, the building stinks, you have no idea where you are or how to get to your next terminal and no one wants to help you.
I've said enough ! Laughing

Yeah, Air France is a joke. I flew all the way across the Atlantic chatting up the stew and her english was just fine when she was bringing me a glass of wine. Amazing how much english she forgot when it was clear that I was going to miss my connection and I asked what Air France was going to do to get me to Moscow...

Gul-Dukat...if you're talking about me ole boy and France...I have nothing what so-ever against the people of France nor the country of France.
Undoubtly you don't have to sometimes travel for a living like I do and fight your way through the frustrations of airlines and airports.
Myself and MANY more people have had nothing but problems getting through
CDG transferring. I've had more problems with Air France than any other airline.
When and IF, CDG gets their problems corrected, then I'll have no problems transferring through there again.
Three of us have got to fly to Modolva on business soon...to keep from having to miss our cannecting flight and the frustrations of "no help" getting through CDG...We're taking three different connections to get there to our meetings and they're NOT thru CDG.
Maybe you didn't read my post about JFK....????
DELTA & KLM International Flights ....the best I've ever flown with! Very Happy

I realise that Gul has nothing useful or positive to contribute to this forum. He has zero interest in Russia travel, and only cares to talk about crap and preach about the 'occident', many posts have been deleted, so actually we've seen worse from it. Ah sod it, we'll just ban him.
