There are an increasing number of Singapore businesses with dealings in Russia, and most of them--gasp!--don't speak Russian!

Search this form for posts form a guy with the username WorldTech or something. He was trying to do the same thing.

Difficulties--- will be every way you look----- My friend and I had great problems and thats even with my wife who could do everything--- and she`s a Major in the police-- showing her badge---etc etc

Even when changing the numbers from English to Russian the chap asked my wife how she could afford a Land Cruiser---- I had to stick my head around the window and say Hi--- its Mine ( in best English)

Anything you import make sure all the chasssis and engine numbers match--etc etc etc--- if 1 person finds even the slightest thing wrong--- it will take money and time to sort out,

If you are still serious about it all--- I wouldnt bother with the main cities --- too many people already doing it so the profit margins will be lower
Try for smaller cities---- where cars are more expensive slightly

Honestly not speaking Russian you will have tremendous problems---- OK like Media shark said --- hire a translator---- but again ---all off the bottom line profit

When I thought along these lines a few years ago ---- the best variant was to find a local car dealer who sells western cars--- do a deal with him --- whereas he will do all the paper work this end

OK your margins will be smaller ---selling them to the trade---- but you should be able to make it up by volume--- fly to Russia--- hire a translator --- go around all the dealerships of second hand western cars--- do a deal--- then they can e-mail there orders to you--- then try to buy to order---- open a bank account with a western bank---- with internet banking----( Raiffeisen bank)--- the dealers will deposit the money in your account --- then you can transfer the money back to where-ever

THats my opinion --- ( plus study Russian)

Lee
