1 week to go!

Looking over Aeroflots www site is confusing. The English translation is not very good.. Hope some of you can lend me your experience.

What is the total baggage weight per bag.. and total per person for tourist class?

Also, by what date.. or how long before departure must the tickets be re-confirmed?

thanks much..

Where are you flying and from where? European and American baggage allowances can be different.

I am leaving tomorrow ( Feb 1st ) from LAX to Moscow. I had the same problem with the English translation..

I did call up the office at LAX and got my answer..

Q: 'What is the baggage limit?'..

A: ' Depends...'

HA, I know you didn't want to hear that. But, it seems to depend on how far you are going. If I understood correctly, trans alantic flights have a limit of 2 checked pieces of luggage of not more than 32 kilo each.. and a carryon bag of not more than 10 kilo.

But, Don't blame me if I mesed it up. Call the office at the airport you are departing from. You won't find the number on the Aeroflot www site, you'll have to go to the airports site and root around..

See you all in Moscow Thursday night! Smile

If your final destination is Moscow, then transatlantic limits are OK.

But if you plan to transfer to a local flight in Russia, you better stick to the European standards (check any major European airline site) or you will pay a overweight fee for every kilogram and this can be very awkward unless you are at the front of the check-in queue and have russian rubles in cash ready to use.

Made it to Moscow & then to Penza..

Had a easy time at LAX, didn't blink an eye at my luggage or weigh my carryon..

Problem at SVO though, took forever to get the bags, then my 2nd bag was delayed by another hour and finally came out on a different airlines belt with a green tag saying 'last bag'.. uggh.. Maybe that is some sort of code for 'Welcome to Russia?' Rolling Eyes
