I made reservation for transportation from SVO2 to Domodedovo for my client. And they missed! I phoned and claimed and they say because it's weekend, they are very busy and forgot!!!!! How reliable company! It's the same as all other Russian companies in Moscow. I recommend everybody to NOT use their service, unless you have very patient and kind heart, to wait at the airport for 4 hours......... Evil or Very Mad

To TK:

I have just contacted Alex Transfers company and asked them what happened to this airport transfer. They told me you made the order for your client just before his departure and they haven't sent you the confirmation yet. Then, when this person arrived, you phoned them up and asked why is your client waiting.

He was waiting because you left too little time between the order and your client's arrival. The way I see it, you ordered the transfer too late for it to be confirmed, and now you want to put the fault on somebody else.

Alex Transfers say they did not confirm this transfer and their TOS clearly state that they will only make the transfers that they confirm.
This is understandable, because you don't have to prepay for their services. To make sure their drivers are not wasting their time, transfer companies need to confirm your contact details and the flight details as well before fulfilling the order. All this takes a bit of time, that's why the confirmation is required.

Please, next time when you order airport transfers make sure you receive the confirmation of the order first. If there is too little time left before arrival, it's better to phone up and make sure the transfer is arranged.

Thank you for investigation and for reply. But there are several points I want you to concern.
1st. the reservation was made Jan 27th. 2:00am Moscow time.
and my client arrived there Jan 28th. 17:30.
It's much more than 24 hours that is required.

2nd. my wife called them to ask what was happening, they told us that because of weekend, they could not reply in time, 8 hours promissed, nor do anything. If it is the way they work, no other way for me than to say THEY ARE UNRELIABLE.

3rd, they said for VIP service at SVO, we must pay in advance. I checked everywhere but NOWHERE I could find. And for taxi itself, we must pay at that time to the driver........

4th. they told lie to you. to protect themselves.

As the conclusion, I must say that their service is based on a RUSSIAN STANDARD, unfortunately.

It's funny what connotation you give to the RUSSIAN STANDARD phrase. If Russia is so shit why traveling here then? Why sending your clients here? Just to provide an evidence of how bad things are? Or with a noble aim of improving poor Russian standards and educating our unreliable people?

Alex Transfers will get their share of ass-kicking -- one more incident like this and I will consider whether we will continue having their advertisement on this site. I don't want to spend my time trying to justify somebody's inability to come to agreement with their own clients.

Thanks for quick reply.
Yes, from one point of view, you are right.
Everybody knows (including you, I assume) how Russian standard service level is low.
Off course, if I could find somebody appropriate, no such problem will never occur.
I utilize your service, since I know that your website is reliable.
I have many times used already IntelService for VISA and their service is
excellent, always. Much better than in the US.
I have also used accomodation service, too, without any trouble.

So, I just wanted people to know that, that transportation company's service level is way below than other services provided in the website.

thank you anyway for considering my trouble.

I have used Alex Transfers twice and was very pleased with the service both times. On my most recent trip I was supposed to arrive on a Saturday, but missed the connection in New York (Delta SUCKS!!) and didn't get to SVO2 until Sunday. I called and left a message for Alex Transfers and also emailed them to tell them of the change in my plans. I got a call in the middle of the night, US time, from the driver wondering where I was - I explained I was still in New York and have left a message a good eight hours or so earlier. I felt bad for the driver because I'm sure she didn't get any compensation for the trip to SVO2. I told her same time tomorrow and hoped I would see a driver the next day.

I get to SVO2 the next day and now Delta has lost my luggage (did I mention that Delta SUCKS?) I ended up sticking around inside SVO2 for at least another hour while waiting for my luggage to show up. The flight was late too. So... I'm at least two and a half hours late for my driver. I'm pretty sure he isn't going to be there. He was. I knew he had been sititng around waiting for me to show up. Very nice guy - I would have completely understood if he had blown me off. He got a good tip.

The return on this trip was also with Alex Transfers - picked me up at the hotel right when they said they would and got me to the airport in plenty of time.

I'd use them again without any reservation (heh heh - no, wait, I mean, I'd get a reservation, but I would have no problems using them again!)

One thing I always PRE-PLAN a trip out of the country, unless it would be an emergency. This gives myself and my contacts, especially in Russia , plenty of time to confirm everything in writing .
As many times as I've been to Russia, my transfer people were always there waiting on me when I got off the plane, always very nice and considerate if the plane was late. They would trasnfer my girls and myself to our Moscow apartment, pick-us up the next night and carry us to the train station, When we arrived on the train from their city the next week or so, they would be at the train station at 6:00AM to carry us back to our apartment.
When it was time for me to fly home they would make sure I was at the airport in time to catch my flight.
They would then carry my girls back to the apartment and would make sure they got on the train that night to return to their city.
This is called PRE Planning a trip in plenty of time to make sure everything goes as planned.
Sometimes though things don't work as planned...this has happened in Russia on one occassion. It was a "communication error" and all was forgiven and no one was "blasted" for it. We all survived the error.
The only think I find wrong with Russia, it's to far away from our home here in America for more frequent visits to family and friends over there.
Everyone makes mistakes...even Delta...I had to spend the night in New York on one trip over because of engine problems on the plane. Delta put us up in a Marriot Hotel, fed us and got us on to Moscow the next day. Nothing to do but call the trasnfer company or assigned driver and had the times changed. I woke her up and told her my problem, she still met my girls at the train station and made sure they were taken care of(no problem)

Delta still sucks. Much more to my story than a missed connection, but I won't bore you with the details. Will *never* fly Delta again - even if it means that I can foget about relatively decent connections to Moscow. I'm gonna connect in London next time. Since this isn't a thread about Delta I won't go into the details. Suffice to say, though, there were 10 of us on the last flight that got the shaft - no hotels, no confirmed next flight, nothing. Very ugly.

This is probably not relevant, but I notice just about every american airline is shit. They wanna charge the most, and give the least. Inside the USA I only use JetBlue if I have to fly, even their terminal is less crowded and you dont have to worry about people patting you down in places where the sun doesnt shine Laughing
