based on personal experiences (I am not getting to much personal here to avoid attacks) I can confirm: yes, russian girls are less picky in terms of man's appearance. reason: fair shortage of decent men in russia. Good looking men here: where do you get approached by women in bars and clubs more often in Russia/Europe/UK/USA? Russian girls seem like they don't care about handsome men at all Laughing

About getting a russian partner: keep in mind that person who speaks english and travels abroad likely is in 7% of the top (economically, socially, intellectually etc) russian population (i just travelled to the central russia so believe me, if you've been only to big russian cities you dont know what the rest of the country looks like, central russia looks pitiful). Getting your sweetheart to the west and becoming like everyone else might be a bigger sacrifice than your mate can handle, no matter how much they say they care for you.
Just barely speaking english gives an opportunity to have a good lifestyle, travel abroad and immigrate if necessary (there're immigration programs to Canada, Australia and UK, EU works to apply the immigration law for skillful people as well). So I don't get why someone would marry a westerner just for the passport, VISA, small low interest bank accounts along with the low credit score and high interest rates on the mortgage and credit cards, I am not sure if higher class of the western countries would think of going to russia to get a wife. The cliche way of getting russian wife kills the whole romance of dating and no wonder so many men are being dumped afterwards when their sweethearts already have blue passports instead of red ones.
So if you want to marry a russian girl and she speaks english - there's no obstacle for her to immigrate herself (if she desires), she's simply lazy and had a brainwash in the marriage agency or wherever.
If you are looking for a russian man: think twice if you could handle it.
I am russian myself and have got some russian men friends who extensively travel abroad: we agree on one thing - western women are fun, great to talk to, smart, decent and stuff but they need to hit the gym more often, needless to say style and taste of western women is much more refined, this somewhat compensates physical appearance inferiority.
Sorry for the generalizations if any but i hope it helps resolving puzzles in multicultural relationships.

most of the posts from the "experts" are such a bs. total crap. some guy married a woman who didnt expect to work after marriage. and he thinks its about russian culture and the idea of working being married is a cultural shock for her. intersting where did he get her from? where are such idiots, sorry, not very smart people produced? another one thinks that its hard to find a good russian man to marry. so thats why russian girls are after "westerners''.
some people manage to live in teh country and stay full of steretypes.
