Yes. I actually think Chechens look really nice outwardly, both men and women.
The people that I think are very nice looking and I mean VERY are Osetins (Alans).

Yes, all people from the Caucasus are very good looking. Smile

Would it be correct to assume that you're related to the people of Caucasus?

Does anyone have opinions, criticisms or impressions about any western born actors (British, American, Canadian, other European, etc.) who play russian characters in movies?

This probably can be answered easier by natural speakers or someone well-studied who are good at detecting bad accents, mis-pronounciations, lousy verb usage, and so forth . . .

Well... the topic was started over 2 years ago but I only found it today. And I want to comment on it.

The way American/British/Canadian actors speak Russian is complete and total crap. The accent is terrible!!! But even worse when they get Russian actors to play Russians. The dialogues are too primitive, intonation unexistant, etc, etc, etc.

I saw people mentioning Bourne ID and Harisson (sp?) Ford. Ford's Russian is even more terrible cause in one of his movies he is trying to fool a Russian soldier on the radio. TERRIBLE!!! When I hear American actors trying to speak Russian I always wish they would just speak English dangit!!!

And Bourn ID Smile). Now THAT was funny. One of Bourne's passports was Russian but... guess what? It's NOT Russian. It's not even cyrillic Smile). We get this kind of font when there's a coding error in a webpage. So basically it's just a set of unreadable symbols.

So my advice to Hollywood - DON'T EVEN TRY!!!

What about Tom Hanks in the Terminal...I guess although his character wasn't from Russia it sounded like his accent was trying to be. Or what about Anjelina Jolie's greek accent in ALEXANDER...sounded more Russian to me. I think she was all confused. I think using Russian actors in American movies like The HOSTEL by Quentin Terrintino is the way to go.

No idea. Accents they can do pretty fine I guess.
