Its been over two years since I last visited Russia and wanted to get some advice on what to say and what not to say when passing through the Customs line at Pulkovo Airport. Last time I was there, I was with a student group and I believe we said we were there as part of an education program. We also had reservations at a local hotel. This time around I'm going alone and staying with a friend who lives in St. Petersburg. When I applied for my visa, I wrote her name and address as the place I would be staying while in Russia so hopefully that won't be a problem. I have a 30 day dual-entry visa.

So, what would you suggest as to what I should say when asked why I'm coming to Russia and any other questions I may face?

I don't think it's very likely that they will ask you anything, if your documents look normal, they won't bother. If they do, just say something that is consistent with your visa information. I believe you have a dual-entry tourist visa.? Then you're obviously a tourist...
