Now THAT sounds like old Russia. My Russia. The Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics that I was born and grew up in. That is how it was there. Hard line. No one, EVER, dared question their orders. And if they did, the punishment for dissent was VERY severe. It was a militarised, maybe even a totalitarian state, but as I realised, as starnge as it might sound, such a system is far more efficient then a capitalist, "democratical" one. You see, for a nation like Russia/Soviet Union, a very multicultural and multinational country, the nation must be UNIFIED! Because a nation, in my opinion, is like a herd of sheep, and, unless the sheep want to get eaten by wolves, they MUST all go together, the same way their lead/shepherd goes. Otherwise the sheep will get lost and eaten by wolves, or bears, or other predators. In fact, a Roman Emperor, or maybe a Persian one, I don't remember which, said: "Divide and conquier!". A nation where all people can go separate ways is a divided nation. And a divided nation is a WEAK nation!

With that outlook, you should be living in North Korea. What are you doing wasting your time in Canada?

Eh... My grandfather went to Pyongyang in 1965 on business (weapons selling, obviously, what other business did CCCP and NK do with each other? Laughing), and he says it's a dark, strange place, with heavily armed guards everywhere.

Well that sounds just like how one of my brothers remembers the CCCP in 1984. He and his wife have some real horror stories about their trip. They laugh about it though.

If you're from the West, try getting a visa to visit the DPRK and see what happens.

"You bourgeois aggressor, you are sadly mistaken you think you can browbeat the DPRK!"

"You shameless warmonger, we will transform your country into a sea of fire!"

"You swollen-headed lackey, such a provocation will be regarded as a declaration of war!"

most ways to get into certain countries is to go through other embassies...like when I went to Iran...Pakistan issued my visa...there is always a way. Now once you get there then probably you are going to encounter problems...but back to watermelon...I am still cracking up over that Laughing

I think you have to be willing to go along with their propaganda and not ask undermining questions.
