[quote="european"]I finally got a reply from the EU (others don't answer) on my question about visa for near relatives. This facilitation agreement appears not quite as useful as it seems (except for the price of visa):

Just out of the curiosity, which agency did ask for clarifications? |

Thanks, european!
This topic is still a hot one. It is widely discussed not only in this forum, but also in a number of russian forums. Although the visa facilitation agreement should be adopted on the mutual basis, its practical implementation is a subject for a dispute. For example, the dutch embassy issues the visa for Russian citizens engaged in mixed marriage in accordance with the simplified rules. However, the russian consulate in the Hague refuses to accept the written statement from spouses. Apparently, Eu is aware of this practice, but does not interfere! So sad!! |

You will still need a work permit with TRP. But you won't need one once you have permanent residency after a year.
Your chances are low on getting this temporary residency, unless you are married to a Russian citizen.
They say it is possible under a quota system, but I have never known a western Eeropean or North American ever getting a TRP without being married to a Russian.
And to make matters worse, the Russian government has recently cut the quota of people allowed by 50% |
