Please, can anyone tell me - how long might it take for a package airmailed from Moscow to arrive in America? Thanks for your time.

3 months maximum. Depends on whether the carrier pigeon get's shot or is attacked by vultures.....

Also depends on where you send from. Mow & ST P is quicker...anywhere else and it generally goes to Mow first.

My wife and I have always received our parcels sent to us, but the time taken has varied enormously.

Of little use...

I had packages come in a week and three months. It depends if the custom people find them interesting or not.

Um... what does this mean "if the customs people find them interesting or not"? (I mean, I have no reason to be concerned, because it is a package of books, but do they search through everything?) I just have this thing about privacy invasion...

Our Post office here in the US said I could track my packages I send using the Russian Postal service and the same tracking # on the package given from here. Does anyone know if the Russian Post has a web site that I can use and if it is also in English?

i think your chances to get the package are pretty low if you sent it thru usual russian mail. but i might be too pessimistic. I'd advise to use commericial mail, for example this http://garantpost.ru/eng/
Usually takes 7-10 days to recieve a package sent thru them.

It's not going regular mail it has to be signed for...which is why I have a tracking # and insurance. So I hope it does get there

Is it bad if I entered the 14 digit code into the Russian Post track shipment field and received the message roughly "unfortunately, no information is available at this time"... ?

Does this mean that the package has been lost?

Does this mean that the package is out of the Russian Post system (and presumably in the USPS system)?

Russian Customs or your countries Customs will open and check the parcel contents if they feel the need, and legally they are allowed to do so.

At least Oz Customs put's a little sticker on to let you know...

Speaking of which, there's a show in Oz called "Border Patrol" about Customs and you wouldn't believe the stuff being sent in the mail...heroin, LSD, seeds etc.....

I don't send anything valuable through state run postal services.
