Next year my gf and I are planning on traveling from China to St Petersburg by train and completing the trip by getting married in St Petersburg.

I'm a brit and she is Taiwanese.

So what i want to know is how practical this is. How much of the marriage permisions can i sort out outside of Russia?

where can you get married in Russia? eg a registry office, hotel, public place etc

Thanks
Stuart

Second that. Forget it. It won't work in this land of endless bureaucratic regulations.

There are documents from home countries that need to be translated and notarized and apostilled and submitted to the proper Russian offices. Then there is a 30 day waiting period. Then you would need to go to the authorized marriage center for foreigners with all the properly stamped and approved documentation.

It's a pipe dream. Not gonna happen. Happy honeymoon to you though (somewhere else). Very Happy
