Privet. I'm looking to hook up with cool people while i'll be there on assigment and for fun from 11 jun to 24 jun..I will be bouncing between Spb. and Moscow during the two weeks. I have an apt. in Spb. so will spend most of the time there. I am 32 white male, 6'0 not looking for a russian bride or a tour guide or whatever. I am really fascinated by Russian culture and want to be in Russia to experience the east, not the westernization of the East. Tradition, custom, etc.

My russian is poor but i'm trying every day- then again I suppose if you can read this you can at least read English Smile

Anywhow, get in touch via email- first beer (or Vodka) is on me.

spaseeba,
alex

If you want to experience whatever is left of traditional Russian "culture" neither Moscow nor St. Petersburg will have what you're looking for. Moscow is the biggest city in Europe, flooded with petrodollars and post-Soviet tacky. St. Petersburg is a touristy big city with some good museums and a bunch of remonted old palaces thet have been unoccupied for a century.

Get out into the medium and smaller towns in more provincial areas. There you can still find plenty of Old Russia surviving. But not in Moscow or St. Pete.

And even outside those 2 metropolises there are still huge differences. There's really no way you can compare a larger Russian city to one of the small villages or towns with their muddy roads. They're different worlds and people live different lives there..
