We are travelling on the trans-mongolian railway next year javascript:emoticon('Laughing')
Laughingand would like to get to ST Petersburg by train from London. Does anyone have any suggestions? We'll have 5-6 nights to get there so can be quite flexible and would like to see as many countries as possible on the way.

Thanks javascript:emoticon('Question')

From London... Well getting to Poland shouldn't be that hard. From Warszaw or Cracow there's at least trainconnection to Moscow. Or you could just could go via Baltic states and take a train from Tallinn (Estonia) to Saint Pete. However I've heard that the train connections and railways in Latvia and Lithuania aren't teh best of the kind. So taking a bus maybe wouldn't be too harmful -Eurolines it is.

Not. There is NO Tallinn/St. Petersburg train (....for the umpteenth time....)

Be very careful with your train route. Travelling by train through Belarus:
(1) Not recommended
(2) requires a visa

I travelled east through Belarus no problem in 2003. The visa was fifteen quid in London and done by [recorded] post.

Hi, I know this has been touched on in other threads but can anyone give me a definitive answer as to which is the most convenient eurolines bus station to arrive in SP? The site has Pet.B-Vokzal which i reckon might be the best, but there is also Pet.B-Stat.
Any help appreciated. thanks
