Hi,
Im thinking about moving to Moscow in September but first would like to improve the lingo somewhere cheap. I would like to do a 1-2 week intensive course and live with a Russian family. As Im coming from Western Europe, Iwas thinking about Kaliningrad. Does anyone have any input about this place or can recommend somewhere. I presume learning Russian in moscow is a lot more expensive...

Thanks,

sull

Hello Sull and everydody,
I am an English language teacher (but my Russian Grammar is excellent as well), so if anyone needs Russian lessons for free you are most welcome to contact me (my payment would be live conversation in English Smile
Thanks,

This is the only website that I have found that has a full Russian language course online: www.mangolanguages.com. Believe it or not, you don't have to pay anything to use the software. I have found it extremely helpful in learning Russian.

easy to find some russians in your city..learn from them...

Learning a foreign language takes a professional teacher and a good real course, unless: 1) you are younger than 11 y.o. and can acquire a language the way children do, or 2) you are ready to invest long years into learning through misunderstanding and being misunderstood. Native speakers can teach you "Hello" and "Cheers", "Can I buy you a drink?", but this is not really speaking a language. OK, of course, depends on what one is going to do in the country, and what is the reason for learning. In some occasions a phrasebook is a better solution. Best of luck with your Russian!
