|

Hello all,
Quick question -- I am American, and had an amazing time in Moscow and St. Petersburg for two weeks back in March of this year.
In fact, I enjoyed it so much I am going back in mid-November for an additonal two weeks.
Therefore, that means two journeys to Russia in less than eight months.
Since the Visa information I have read does not address this, does anyone know if two trips so close together will be an issue?
Any information would be much appreciated.
Thank you! |

Like surfguy said, no problem, just more money.
I went every 6 weeks before my wife and the twins got here, wore out two passports, luggage, and not to mention the wear and tear on my butt sitting in planes and doing the 14 hour overnight train ride to and from their city on each trip...and...shopped till I dropped with them in Moscow on each trip.
It got to the point when I went through passport control each trip they looked at me in amazement.

| A visa agent once told me that more than three tourist visas per year could be a problem. But if you travel so frequently, multi-entry business visas would be more practical anyway. |

| Multiple visits are definitely NOT an issue! I've had 4 tourist visas and 1 transit visa in one year, and one was an overstay situation where the Embassy helped me get an extended visa. My visits were Aug'05, Dec'05, and Feb'06, with transit visa in Aug'06. I'm heading back in 3 weeks to pick up my wife (finally time for her visa - YEA!). |

I will be traveling to Russia in November and then again in March of next year. There is a space of 4 months between trips. I appreciate your post, and you sharing your experience with the board, but the rules as I read them contradict with your post.
From what I understand you must get a business visa if you travel to Russia multiple times "if" 90 days has past since your last visit within the course of a 1 year period. So in my case I would need a business visa since 4 months will have past when I re-enter. Can anyone else clarify this for me? Perhaps I am reading it wrong.
My fear is if I get stuck with a customs agent that follows the rules by the letter; I may be denied entry upon arrival. |

| I don't think that it will be an issue, I went in May one year, then again in October. If you have the visa the border agent will not bother with you. |

| Thanks for your input. Now I know more then one person has passed the test. I would like to apply for 2 separate tourist visas because they are processed quicker and less is required (HIV test, cover letter) to get them. And by the way, I am a tourist, but I guess that doesn't matter to the Russian government. They prefer to be lied to. |
