Well, your opinions are Google created. Have you ever had an opinion, or do you want time to Google yourself an opinion? How can you see the common man from your pedestal so high up. Aren't these links from the biased reporters that Canada is so famous for. Or from the incidious French Secret Police who travel the narrow border highways of Canada hunting for non french speakers, whisking them away to a Guantonamo like structure in the back woods of Quebec. You are truly laughable Spicey. Carry on, you truly do amuse me, somewhat like a jester.

There were hearing on this issue many times in the Canadian parliament. Don't blame Goodle for it. Just because you are not aware of this issue and that there's a theat to Canada, don't say that it does not exist. You don't understand why would anyone hate Canada. Having a reasonable approach towards unreasonable people does not make sense. There are quite a few loonies that hate the West, its values and a variety of policies where Canada is in the same pack as Britain and the US. Whether this is Canada's strong support for Israel or Canada's involvement in Afghanistan.

I am aware of this talk, and talk is all it is. Just like you. If you actually paid any attention to the news, you'd know that Harper has backtracked on his support for Israel. PLEASE, stop talking about my country. It's really getting annoying. We are not in any pack with you, all you have to do is look at the core beliefs about Homosexuality, treatment of immigrants, abortion, health care, correctional system, crime rates, etc. etc. Please stop talking about my country the way you do. I am asking nicely.

First of all, I can say whatever I want about your country. I visited it many time and it's not that different from the US. Abortion is completely legal in the US and is widespread. There are some right-wingers that want to limit the availability of it, but they were not successful. If you open New York Yellow Pages, you will be surprised how many ads for abortion clinics you will find there. Crime rate in New York fell to 30-year old, whereas I read that Vancouver's crime rate - while still very low - is rising. Health care system is completely different in Canada - that's true. But that means good and bad. It's good for lower middle class because they have access to a decent care basically for free. It's bad for most professionals that in US get a huge variety of choices, access to best doctors, all procedures and little wait, where in Canada the wait for some procedures is very long. Many doctors move to the US because the pay for most doctors in Canada is low.

As far as treatment of immigrants is concerned, over 1 million immigrants come to the US legally each year and more than that number illegally. Being an immigrant myself, I can tell you that immigrants are treated quite well here and most of them prosper in the US (called the land of immigrants for a reason...). Don't mix protests against illegal immigration in the border states with the overall treatment of immigrants. That is a reaction to a flood of illegal immigrants.

Harper may have backtracked on his support for Israel. However, many religious lunatics are not that informed about his diminished support.

Toronto has much more in common with San Francisco or New York than with Calgary. We are very similar (except maybe for a hairly bush growing on your head - that we don't have here in the US).
