The type of winter closing depending of where you are and what you doing.

Here in Moscow in my usual life i wear just duck (very warm!) coat over jeans shirt. It's enough to short walks to metro, to drive in a car, etc.

The boots should be really warm, or you became sick very quickly. There's a lot of winter footwear with a reasonable price about $150. Do not buy anything chiper

However its still very vague coz i am from malaysia and where i'm at all the winter clothing sold are for european temperate climate not the extreme ones i'll be facing in moscow in january. So can anybody give a price guide (in USD) of what is expected to be the price for a good jacket.

Russian winter parkas, jackets, camouflage suits, fur hats, Telnyashka sweatshirts are some cloths specially wear in winter in Russia.

Wow, that is pretty expensive. You can get two decent winter jackets for this money in the US or UK.
