|
|
The following page from your visa partner: http://www.rusholiday.com/reginfo.php says "Multiple entry business visas for 1 year are registered for 3 months only. Foreign citizens with 1-year business visas will have to leave Russia after the first 3 months spent in the country. Registration is to be renewed after foreign citizens reenter Russia. (Note: Moscow is exception. It is still possible to make registration for 6 months)."
Does anyone know if there is a way to register a visa for 6 months without leaving the country or doing that registration in Moscow?
I am planning a bicycle trip from Amsterdam to Vladivostok in 2007. Original plan is to enter Russia near St Petersburg, register a visa there and then spend following 5+ months bicycling. I would like to bypass Moscow if possible. From description above, it looks like I might have to temporarily leave Russia and re-enter half way through? Is there an easier way or other ideas?

did you find a way out?
sounds bizarre, but, Id go to the consulate, and show your plan, what you plan to do...
there have to be ways out... and Im certain that there are exclusions...
perhaps, if you have sponsors, etc, and a map, etc, you can show them that the registration will be difficult to handle... |

Hallo Mike,
Ik schrijf dit in t engels, dan hebben anderen er ook wat aan:
The problem with multi-entry business visa is that they are actually not meant for people who wish to stay in Russia for a long period. They are a facility for businessmen to enter the country for numerous occasions during a certain period.
Of course we use them in other ways as well. Probably the new rules are just something we have to live with. I am not sure if there is a simple solution for long, slow trips like yours, but I doubt it.
I would like some info on this from an experienced expat (mediashark, overseas? help?) |

| I have never had this problem, if you are using the same visa support service (Intelservice/Visatorussia) offered through this site. They registered my visa 6 months at a time. However I am out of the loop for several weeks now, and the other possibility that why you might run into such a problem is that there had been a change in the law or something like that. |
