HIV negative certification for multientry visa ?

Hello to everyone, I read on many many sites for visa support that for the multientry visa and generally for those visas longer than 3 months is required a certification of HIV negative test. In my case, I'm Italian, in January I got the visa without the certification. The russian embassy in Italy simply didn't ask for it. So... what is the story ? Can I espect problems in the future during my travels in Russia ? Thank you. Giovanni
