|
|
I'm looking for a cheap hotel for a couple of nights in Moscow. I know about the problems regarding hotels in Moscow: they're either overpriced or run-down (or both). I don't seek any luxury; my main issues are that the hotel is acceptably clean and that the hotel and its surroundings are safe. Could anyone reccomend anything?
On various sites, I read about the Gamma-Delta hotel, located in the suburbs. A giant Soviet-style hotel, it offers relatively cheap rooms. Unfortunately this web site does not have a review; could anyone advise or comment on this hotel?
Cheers! |

| Gamma delta is a hotel Izmailovo, I think we have a review of this hotel. There are 3 blocks there: Alfa, Beta, Gamma, all offer differnet rooms and have different prices. I think Gamma is the least expensive. It is located next to Izmailovsky Park (metro station and the park itself), which is a very nice area: half forest-half part -- I actually live close to Izmailovsky park -- it's a nice area, and it takes about 20 minutes by metro to the center. |

| Depending on where you are going to be, there are some nice hotels in the outskirts of Moscow that are fairly cheap. Both hotels are renovated apartment building so they have 1,2 and 3 room suites that range from economy to deluxe. One hotel is Tsaritsino and the other is Orekhevo. The are virtually next to each other. I can never figure out where they are located exactly, but there is a metro stop nearby. Both hotels cost about $120-$150 per night for the 3 room deluxe. I am pretty picky and have found these hotels to be nicer than most in the center, if you don't mind being a bit far away. |

| I have stayed at the Izmailovo Complex a number of times at Delta. It is not a fancy place but is basically a 3-star Soviet hotel, outside the city but near metro stationl. Many tour groups are now using the hotel. Breakffast is usually included. Price depends on who you book it through.. I paid $48US for standard double, higher priced rooms are available, I booked through a Russian agency. |
