Maybe it would be nice to have a section in here on Entertainment trends in Russia. Not for any specific area or city, but just for General information about whats happening all over Russia, music, television, theatre, etc. Just a thought.
Might let travellers know whats going on there.

Most of the entertainment in Russia is in Russian. Movies, theatres, TV, and all the entertainment schedules are in Russian too.

I assume the the vast majority of visitors to WTR looking for travel information are not Russian speakers.

You'd be amazed that about 90% of what goes on in this country isn't available in any kind of translation. I find it a tremendous problem.

Yes like they have on some of the other sites...I think it's a good idea...but can be time consuming to update.

Thats true, but there are also styles of music, and there are increasing numbers of Russians that are endeavouring to learn english, and vice versa. It just might be nice for travellers from western countries to know what people are listening to and watching, before they go there. There is a growing interest in western style entertainment. One only needs to look at the record time it took to sell out tickets to Madonna's concert there. Regardless of whether it is only in russian, I personally would like to know what Russians are experiencing for entertainment.

Well, we don't really have to make it into a chore, just post new groups, and such. Like I'm sure not many people from the west have heard of Tatu, and they are a popular group there. And there are also some popular German groups, like Hammerstein- not sure of the spelling on that. I would like to see something other than all the doom and gloom posts.

Yes at work I am able to be on the computer all day and watch RTD and am on this site...and it's good because I get a non US perspective on Russia. Even the Russia Today is a British owned program. I really like the Documentary the Way Farer...he's an American who is form San Jose here in California...anyway he travels all over Russia and reports on all sorts of things-it's a good program for sure. And I like listening to Russian radio as I think also it helps to learn the language.
