|
|
Hello, and thank you for reading my question.
I have been reading the info on this site for hours and it is very addicting. What a great website! I think I know the answer to my question, but I want to be sure...
I live in the US, and just received my first passport. I will be visiting a town far from Moscow and staying in a flat with a friend. I have read that the "homestay visa" takes a long time, so....
- Can I get a "Touris Visa" through this website that will allow me to fly to Moscow, and then fly to the other town?
- Would I need to stay in Moscow for a day or two to have my Visa registered at the travel partners office? If so, why might it take a few days for this? Also, instead of this, what are my chances of having my Tourist Visa registered for the whole month by only getting paying for one night at a hotel in my friends town? Or would the one stamp from the agency be enough for my whole trip?
- Anyhting else I have not considered that anyone can think of, I would greatly appreciate your comments.
Thank you again, so much, for reading my questions.

Hi Daniel,
Yes, you can get your tourist invitation through this site.
The registration works like this: the stamp of the agency will be enough for customs officials because they will apparently not know where you were traveling.
However, according to the rules you should register in each city where you're staying for longer than 3 working days, so the Moscow registration stamp won't be enough.
The visa agency can give you a special letter that you will need to bring to OVIR in your friend's town to register your visa (staying in his flat -- everything will be official). You can also try to check in a hotel there for one night, but then your friend will need to pursuade the hotel to register your visa for the whole period of its validity, not only for one night.
So, I would advise you this: when you will be applying for your visa through this site, add in "Additional Message" field that you need to have your visa registered in another town, and that you will require a special letter from the visa company to do it. |
