| I am an American citizen and live in the U.S. and met a lady from Krasnoyarsk on line. We have been corresponding for about a year now and have some gotten serious about our relationship. We hope to be married some day. I guess my question is how can she make it happen to come to the United States? Any information you can provide would be most welcome. We truly want to be together and am unsure as to the details and how to make it happen. |

| go and visit her for a while...then she needs to get a visa and come and visit. The key thing is that if you do decide to marry...do it here. Once she is here she can stay (if you are married) Will take at least 6 months for the immigration process...more like 9-12. Once that is complete she then is a permanent resident. But go and visit her. |

There's no question that it's better for you to visit her. If you want to avoid getting Russian visa and would like to meet somewhere in the between, I suggest Prague. You don't need any visa to visit Prague. It's a beautiful and romantic city, and the trip there is quite cheap for most Russians (it's full of Russian tourists). Also, you don't need a visa to visit Ukraine. Delta now has direct flights from New York's JFK to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. |

I guess previous posters didn’t really read the question….
It is very difficult for a single Russian female to get a tourist visa to the U.S. The Consulate officers will always assume in these cases that she will not return back to Russia. She would have to provide proof or cause for return, such as major property, family ties, lucrative job, money in a bank and so on. One way that you can try is to use a travel agency that specializes in tourist visas for Russians to come to the U.S., I know one in San Francisco, called Russart http://usa.russianvisa.net/en/russart4you/index.htm you can give’em a call and they may be able to help you guys. |

knight3965,
It is nearly impossible for a average young RW to get a tourist visa to visit the US. The exceptions are if their passport is already stamped many times with increasingly farther countries.
Such a passport can be cultivated by a WM at great expense to himself, however it would be far wiser and less expensive to visit her in her town.

US embassies all over the world don't usually issue visas unless you bribe the right person there. So you should go visit your acquantance, but don't put much hope-you simply cannot marry a stranger just because she told you a few kind words. And even if you do, she will always want to go home to Russia, where her familty, friends and lif is. She will not like it in US, once she finds how empty life is there:friendship doesn't exist and love exists only in the primitive form of sex.
Go for American girl. You have more in common as values, culture, language if you will. You will never be able to understand a Russian woman. |

| bribe the right person? Do you know this first hand? I think you are very wrong about this! As far as meeting Russian women...tourist visas...just have to apply and see what happens. |

While she may not like it in the US, how do you anoki know that? There are about 500,000 immigrants from Russia living in the New York area, and most like it here and are not returning back (I am one of them). There's no question that most of us prefer to be close to our family and friends. Well, people make new friends, and she can visit her family. America is a land of immigrants - many people come here from other countries leaving their relatives and friends behind. |
