Have the recent atrocities in Iraq effected how Americans are treated in Petersburg, or Russia in general?

I'm coming to Petersburg in June, and was wondering what the attitude towards Americans is right now, and whether Americans should be concerned about visiting Russia.

Thanks.

I wouldn't say that politics affects the attitude towards American tourists that much. Many people are not interested in politics at all. Besides, Russia has problems inside, that overweight all international ones.
June is a special tourist time for St. Petersburg - white nights, etc. You've made a perfect choice of time Very Happy

I just got back from Russia a few days ago and didn't have any problems. I was concerned about the same thing. If you are going to be in the major cities, I wouldn't worry about it.
