ok, so much for my plan to go out and take some photos this morning.... its horrible here now, dark and snowing a real blizzard. Maybe later...... Confused

So, just for those of you who don't know SPB well, here are some summer pics.... first two are the Neva, from the Peter Paul fortress, the other is a "white nights" photo taken in the middle of the night, in June, at one of the thousand lakes (you always get the whole place to yourself!) about an hour north of the city,,,,,,. Memories of endless days of shashlik, skinny-dipping in lakes and being bitten to crap by mosquitoes,......! Rolling Eyes

Well, it did get nicer today! and I took some photos of SPB, here you go,,,,,

This is The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood (Храм Спаса на Крови) - I guess it's most people's most recognized image of St Pete,,,,,,

Here is one of the Hermitage, ice in the river in the foreground.....

Another chilly looking one of the river......

New Year's message on Peter and Paul fortress......

And here is one of the Mars Field, the park which has the eternal flame monument to the WWII dead,,,,,,

Hope that stirs a little nostalgia for those of you not over here! Now I am going to try and thaw out,,,,,,,,
