My first trip to russia planned next month. Have got my invitation letter ok, and am filling in the visa application and there are two things on it I don't know how to answer. Russian departments or organisations to be visited Is this asking what I plan to sight see? I'm going on a tourist visa, and don't yet know what I'm going to see, so how can I answer this? also Index & name of travel company Well, I was planning on travelling independently (just myself travelling), and had planned to organise a flight and hotel once I'd got my visa. As I'd be doing these both seperatley to save on expense, and also to pick and choose what I wanted, I was not going to use a travel company, just sort it all using the glorious internet. I have heard from somone who once wanted to goto russia (couple of years ago) that they ended up not going, because getting a visa was so difficult when they indicated that they wanted to travel by independent means. Anyone offer any advice? Thanks for any help... Rob

I won't know about the 2nd one, I never had to fill in such a question. I think I'd ask my visa sponsor for the name in this field. Anyone from the UK who knows more about this one?

If it is really necessary to answer that particular question, they will fill in that section of the form on your behalf. If you go to the embassy in person to apply for your visa, just confirm when you hand in the application that you don't need to answer this question.
