I am a big fan of Michael Krug. By using slang dictionaries I can find most of his vocab. But I am stumped by the title of one of his songs, "Zhigan Limon" I think it means "pretty boy" from the context of the song, but I am not sure. Can someone help me out. Thanks, Edgar

I think that it can or should be "Shigan" in transposing it to English, too. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Edgar

“Zhigan” is a respectful title given to a member of a criminal cast by other criminals. Originally means “hot-head”. In Tsars Russia "zhigani" used to be one of the most respected casts in criminal world. Limon is just a nickname, could mean lemon or a monetary million.

Thank you so much for you explanation of "zhigan." I guess it comes from the word root "zhech'" which means to burn. I have collected many of Krug's songs on You Tube and find them to be remarkable. Best wishes, Edgar
