Hello,

I'm heading to Tver on the weekend, and unfortunately, I can't seem to locate any trains on the 17th of Feb. that run around 5-11am (departing Moscow). My next logical idea would be to take a bus.

Can some ingenious Russian assist me in getting to (where) and getting (which) bus (how) to Tver from Moscow Domodedovo early in the AM? I've tried googling with little success.

Thanks

Kevin

Afaik buses are not popular there as a 1) traffic jams 2) commuter trains ( elektrichka ) are available. Schedules are on www.tutu.ru. No booking in advance is available, neither is seat reservation.

(1) Take an express train from Domodedovo Airport to Paveletsky Vokzal (= train station) in Moscow. Trains run every 15-30 min., time in transit 40 min., the cost is 150 roubles ($5-something).

(2) Follow signs/crowd/ask people to get to the Paveletskaya Metro Station which is in the same building.

(3) Travel to Metro Komsomolskaya. The cost of Metro ticket is 15 roubles (55 cents).

(4) Once there follow the signs/ask how to get to the Leningradsky Vokzal.

(5) Commuter trains run from Leningradsky to Tver all the time every 30 min. or so. There used to be buses to Tver in front of the Yaroslavsky Vokzal, just next to Leningradsky. The cost buses and commuter trains is in the 180-300 rouble ($7-12) range.

WATCH FOR PICKPOCKETS AND SCAM ARTISTS which are many around these train station and in Tver.

See my www.staritsa.info on places between Moscow & St. Petersburg.

Thanks very very much for that info! I did nto know that the slow electric trains ran on the weekend and were classified differently than the main-line business-class high speed trains. I took that option. Thanks a bunch!
