Wrong! You need to get a life, because you definitely have nothing nice to say, you could not wait to make fun of jo jo just because she is from Kentucky, you paint the whole state with the same brush, and you compared Americans to the Beverly Hill Billies. That is pretty retarded. Rolling Eyes

You are right Fire-G. I hate it when people compare Americans to the worst class of people when it is not that way at all. Crabman doesn't have a clue about Americans. He doesn't know squat. He has not ever been to Kentucky to even classify us Americans to hillbillies. He doesn't even know a what a hillbilly is.

Crabman, go find you a crabette and make some crabs. Wink

what's funny too is that Crabman is from the UK and have to say their virsion of our Hillbillie is also just as pathetic...so funny how Austin Powers dipicted the stereo typical Brit. Wonder if Crabman has decent teeth?

I don't quite follow all of this. However, I have perfect teeth - straight, white, and I have every one that god intended.

I also think that Austin Powers was hilarious. But wasn't that a character created by a Canadian actor?

Speaking of stereotypes, one of the best was Gomer Pyle USMC. Are you related, Surfguy USMC? Semper fi!

Fire_G....Now, that is funny. "Onslow" is the laziest man I have ever seen.

I watch "Keeping Up Appearances". I love this comedy. Have you watched the British comedy, "Absolutely Fabulous"? Those two women are hilarious. I love British comedy.

Jojo should enjoy the "Possible Scots-Irish etymologies". I am inclined toward the "Possible American etymologies". I've never met a working farmer with a pasty white neck!

Well, this is my past that you are showing. Do you see the man with the beard, lower left with the woman and child next to him sitting down, that is my great great uncle Abner Hatfield. I cannot believe you posted this to the forum. It is a little embarrassing. This is a family photo we have hidden away. Too many family members tried to steal it. Hee Hee. My father's best friend is a Hatfield who lives in Indiana now. He has left the family and doesn't associate much with them. The Hatfields are still the stronghold of generations past. Long live the Hatfields...The McCoys SUCK!

Was she able to use her Phd over in America? I know that there are a lot of problems here, because those foreign degrees are not always recognized. Some engineering grads who come here end up working a soft drink machine in a fast food joint. Waste of an education if you ask me. Crying or Very sad

She came to the US with a master's degree and has gotten her phd here. She does"taking care of the family first".
She is an important part of my family business when I'm designing a new home to sit on the side of one of these mountains.
She brought with her from Russia a tremendous knowledge of concrete and foundations. A lot of builders here use her knowledge of this to help them build foundations to support the homes.
I have a friend married to a surgeon from Russia. The only job she could get was working as a PA ...such a pity because she is brilliant in the medical field.

not related but there are some serious gomers in the military. Thing is some of them turn out to be the best fighters...believe it or not...Capt Kangaroo, Mr Rogers, are both serious war heroes. And Don Knotts was one of the toughest Drill Instructors at MCRD. Anyways good to hear you have all your teeth and yes Mike Meyers is Canadian.

Yes what BC says...heard the same that some degrees do not transfer quite the same as here in the USA. Also a Russian friend of mine was telling me that so many degrees in Russia can be bought for like $5000.00

But too I had a conversation with Media Shark the other day and she says that Russia is a 3rd world country with 1st world people. I too think that the people are very educated there and also I have met and know quite a few. One of the things too that attracted me to a certain someone there was the fact that she possesses 2 Masters degrees from a prestigious institution over there. And has had a lot of offers to do PhD here in the states also. But all this said we all know that Russia and really every where else in the world has "Red Necks". My family however has been very fortunate to have been aristocratic on all sides. And my neck isn't red...it's tan year round. Laughing Laughing Wink
