You don't have to pay taxes on winnings in Canada. You can get all the tax money back from the yankees. You just have to apply. Check the gov. sites out for the forms.

Cool, thanks! I'll definately do that!

Just did a quick search, and this was first on the list.

Depends. I moved here to Vancouver in 1999, after living in Israel for 5 years. Means I was in Canada for 8 years. I have both Russian and Canadian citizenships. I own a store here in Vancouver, serving mostly Russian speaking clientelle from Russia and Ukraine mostly. So I guess I am Canadian in a sence of the word. Thanks for the link. Laughing

If you file Canadian Tax returns, you can get the money back.

Where did he find so much racism?

We may not like the answer. Embarassed To an outsider, bad behavior of a single individual can make our culture appear the opposite of our cumulative experiences. Solis' complaint may not be baseless. Does "white flight" mean anything to you? Do you ever talk to the working class?

And these environments are not the norm in the USA.

Quite true. Negative environments are the situation for less than 20% of our population. Our general situation is quite nice if we avoid the "wrong" neighborhoods. But, poverty exists in both the Red states and Blue states.

I came to the US with nothing, and worked my way up. The US is still the land of opportunity like no other.

I think Russia is also a land of opportunity. On my recent visit, I met many talented people who are working hard to better themselves. Russia's abundant natural resources are a nice asset also. I want the best for the Russian people as they develop their economy and preserve the best of their history.

I read a recent tech article that claimes Novosovirsk may become the "Silicon Siberia"! What do you think?

Based on your posts, you're not very bright. That's why you have all the problems you're experiencing. There plenty of "mutts" in the US, and most are prospering here. Those who like to whine would certainly be better in Quebec.... Smile

That was very uncalled for, coming from a person who hasn't even been in my shoes and had been experiencing that. I have the problems i have because i just run into pure ignorant assholes. I never said they were just in America, i said there are just more here.

I see just as many people of different races get just as much bad treatment. I don't ask for it myself. I'm not trying to whine. You asked what problems i had. You asked why i had them. I answered. I've seen what these people go through. Maybe you just live in a nice state and township and don't see it, but i've seen many racial troubles.

And saying that i should go to Quebec because you think it's full of bad people is just absurd and blatantly racist. I honestly hope that post was just a bad joke because it was very rude and ignorant.

I say i get bad treatment here and i get this? I don't understand, is it bad to have an opinion on te unfair treatment i have got here? I never did understand how you had to be black to have racism happen to you either.

I don't feel like starting a fight over something so trivial.

I lived my life. I know what i've been through.

You lived you're life. You know what you have been through.

Let's leave it at that. Fighting online is just retarded.

Well, with 320 million people, the odds are there will be more of them than anywhere else.

Yes I think this is true...but keep in mind that the state controls the natural resources. But there is a lot of opportunity there, and in the Ukraine, and all over any developing country...but of course it is always for the people with the no how and the resources to achieve the opportunities...and isn't this always the case anywhere? I'm sure even in soviet times if you were connected...then you had a much better life. But yes I saw so much potential on my last visit.

Spice, you'll be pleased to learn that the Separatist Bloc Quebecois party has been officially relegated to the back bench. A federalist party now holds the official opposition position. Whatever will you make jokes about, now that Quebec doesn't want to separate?

I actually read the news about it. It was a minor loss. It's not like they became much less popular. I actually don't have anything against those in Quebec that want to separate from Canada. After all, it's a democracy and if that's what people want, they should have what they want. I think it would be Quebec's loss if they decide to separate. Quebec already has the highest taxes in Canada and the most restrictive labor regulations. It should be happy that faster growing provinces like British Columbia and Alberta subsidize that irresponsible behavior. But it's up to the residents of Quebec to decide...
