True. And I think it's good they are cooperating, if that's what they are doing. Also, what my transnistria "adventure" taught me is: don't ever act on bare impulse. I did, and I almost got myself killed there, when an artillery shell fell way to close for comfort. Never again!

Because while normally most taxes go toward providing services for the people like, education, healthcare, etcetera, right now, a lot of these taxes go toward fighitnd the Iraq war. That could mean, amybe less social housing available, for example.

maybe or there is...last I checked thefunding for other social programs hasn't been decreased to fund the war. Keep in mind too...we had Hurricane Katrina and numerous other natural disasters which use up a lot of funds.

Create Paranoia inside his own country.

Other countries pissed off at us.

Higher taxes.

Watching them act like "The Dukes of hazard" every week.

Hearing everyone's opinions and ideals for America just so he can say "Yeah whatever".

These among with other reasons i already said is why he is a bad president. He's just empty in the head.

You keep saying that it's not like it is the first time America has ever had a bad president, but you fail to forget that just because there were bad presidents before him doesn't negate the fact that he's still a bad president and on top of that a complete utter dumbass.

No. But something tells me that if he got his way, i could have been one of the next 20,000+ people to go to his war to fight.

Yes.

surfguy wrote:
is there a benefit which you used to receive and now you are not.

Nope. From what i've seen, i never got any benefit from living in this country. At least when i move to Montreal i'll be a Canadian citizen i'll have free health insurance. Wanna know why they have that benefit? Probably because they aren't spending the worker's money buying militaria what not because they aren't in a war all the time.

surfguy wrote:
Is there a shortage of food on your table

Actually yes, it's ironic you say that.

surfguy wrote:

I just did. Of course something tells me that i could give you endless reasons for why i have the opinions that i do, but i believe it will be fruitless as i'm obviously dealing with a kid who's just going to keep saying "That doesn't matter" or "That doesn' count".

Actually the reason our health care is good, is because of the statement you made earlier. The one where you said we should care for our fellow man, and help him when he's sick. And yes, because we have very low military spending. And frankly, have we ever suffered for it? I dare say, not. Nobody is attacking us, at least not that I know of. When someone plans anything , we usually do a better job of catching them than America does, as is evidenced by the 20 or so terrorists we arrested in Ontario. The signs were there for 9/11, no one acted on them. The suicide pilots were actually trained in American flight schools.

From what i've seen, Canada has never made a mistake in that. It shows all the other countries that they stand to be a friendly and peaceful country, Not vulnerable. You're only vulnerable if you have enemies.

Canada is caring and humble. America is Protective and prideful. I look at the two countries at times and wonder....

WHY HAVEN'T THESE TWO COUNTRIES PUT AWAY THEIR DIFFERENCES AND BECOME ONE COUNTRY ALREADY?

I mean think about it, if they could mix those elements of eachother a little and work on making their own aspects work together, imagine how nice that would be.

Now if you don't mind, i'm gonna grab a beer and put away my John Lennon mind set for a bit.

Simple. George W. Bush wants to be a President. Stephen Harper wants to be a Right Honourable Prime Minister.

I miss the days of Xela. Holy cow. Didn't he tell you that muslims and at times radical muslims own certain parts of the UK? There comes a day when your caring and humble attitude will be your downfall. You will have no voice. You'll be swearing oaths on the Koran and live like they did back in the 14th century. You live like there's no evil (I mean real, physical evil) in this world. Go ahead keep numbering your days.
Free healthcare? Do not even brag on that one. Tell me one thing that the Canadian medical association has discovered, initiated in the last 50 years? Sure it is easy to steal the achievements of the progressive countries like the US and implement them on your soil.

You know, when the US presented its case to the UN, and the UN said there wasn't enough evidence to go to war, Jean Chretien said Canada will not enter in that war in Iraq. When it was shown that Bush's reasons for war were BS, people said to Chretien, hey you made the right decision. You are a smart man. Chretien said, I'm nothing special. The decision was easy. The UN would not sanction the war, and Canada follows the rules. It was an illegal war, the decision was made for me. Simple as that.

Dukes of Hazzard? Haven't seen Dick in George cruising in the General Lee...but if that's what you get out of our Media...hmmmm...makes me wonder

Ahh...but now you are back to stating your opinions...that statement is a subjective one

nope...actually he is against the draft...but Charlie Rangals wanted to enact the draft...he's a leading democrat who proposed a bill...to have you drafted. In actuality...the recruiting numbers are very high and a draft is not need. The number of troops in Iraq is a small number when compared to our overall force.

I'd be willing to bet that you do not pay taxes...but if you do your Federal income tax is not any higher than in previous years

Well that is too bad...when so many people do...I guess really you are not so pro active in your life...I know many people including myself who have all received benefits...education, business grants, even...yes even free health care. Too bad you are not...but I am sure when you move to Montreal you will receive what it is you are looking for...And I'm sure BC can attest to that. But from even what I know of him...he too had to go out and build and create what it is that he has-it wasn't given to him.

Well Canada isn't as a complex society as the US is...having a large military is a necessity when you have the largest economy in the world. If America's economy collapses...what do you think will happen to the world's economy? Canada has high taxes too...and the lines for the free health care from what I hear are long. Also I'm curious to know how many people own cars or homes in Canada. Is the unemployment rate in Canada less than 5%. Is there free higher education up there and what percent go on to college. Also I was told that to move to certain district, provinces etc...that one must ask for permission...so mobility is restricted.

Well mine too...I need to go grocery shopping

they are just opinions

Good luck in Montreal though...I do want to visit there some day[/quote]

Last time i checked, the US didn't have free healthcare. I don't think that was ever one of their achievements. And with obvious reasons.

Well you are right BC...but what is there to attack? Canada is a small population, It's not the number one super power in the world. It can't afford a large military and is protected with a treaty by The USA and Great Brittain. So why does it need a large military. Ahh but the fact that you did catch terrorists means that you are under attack. Plus the US has captured numerous terrorists here at home...far more than Canada. Yes the signs were there for 9-11....long before bush came into office. Really the signs were evident back in the early 1970s. Yes the pilots were trained here...that's the problem in a free society...we have to tolerate even terrorists and give them flight lessons. Sure wish we had Canada watching our backs...we certainly have yours
