What the stupid racist Russian government failed to take into account when they passed the No More Foreign Vendor law, was that these same foreigners also had the fast track to the supply chain. Tomatoes and fruit from Uzbekistan, spices and vegetables from Azerbaijan, shoes and clothes from Tuirkey and whatnot. All gone. Gone, gone, gone. |
After few months we are see that nothing was changed. No illegal foreginers but all the goods still here. |

It depends on what style ( cost ) of living you are used to in /there*/,
and on location (~rent cost) in Moscow.
It is possible to survive for family of 3 on $500+rent, and 'expat cost of living calculation' posted recently gives numbers like $100k/yr.
*write your current location here ( there ). |

| There is one theory that says you can determine the economic situation in any city by the number of coins on the ground that no one bothers to pick up. Economic times must be very good in Moscow judging by the coins on the sidewalk around supermarkets and Metro stations. Most of the coins I see are kopeks of different amounts, not rubles. |
