Chat if you want. But don't pretend you are doing a service to this website when you do. Contribute when you have something worthwhile to say. Otherwise keep the nonsense to appropriate threads. Try to ensure that Russia-related threads are more numerous than the irrelevant ones. That might mean you have to post less nonsense rather than more things about Russia. I'm not singling anyone out - call these general guidelines for everyone. |
Appropriate threads? The "not relevant" section was removed. I guess anything not directly mentioning the words "Russia, or Russian", will be considered nonsense? |
Fire_G you are over reacting to a perfectly normal request.
Look firstly at the name of this website. Once you have studied it, (more than once if it's necessary) you should get the idea that it is intended for those of us, on this planet, who are contemplating going to Russia or those of us on the said planet who have been there and would like to share, or compare adventures and experiences.
People who participate in the above activities attract the attention of service providers, these in turn advertise, where they see potential. Again, in turn this creates revenue for WTR to keep going, even expanding.
If you were a service provider, and read the recent exchanges in here, that have spread to all parts of the forum, would you want to spend your dollars in this environment? I think not.
As far as being an unpaid worker here, you are talking absolute bullshit girl!
Travellers (that is those amongst us that go further each day than work, home, supermarket home) actually like to compare our experiences and exchange tips and advice. If you ever go anywhere Fire _G I really hope that the bug bites you. You have a lot of potential.
It is great to see someone other than me lamenting the sad state of this once excellent website. |

Good posts greg and nikir
Fire_G it is ridiculous that nearly every thread turns into discussion of politics in States. I still think that most of people who come to this forum, come here because they are interested to know different things about Russia, sorry to say this, but number of people discussing about politics of your country isn't that big... Why don't you start a Way To My Lovely USA forum instead |

the title of this thread is: Is it Normal For Russian Women to Give Men Compliments
And now we have 8 pages devoted to conversaiton and use of WTR. The thing is the answer to the tiltle's question can be said in one simple 3 letter word: YES ...how boring is that...I for one didn't come to the forum to just experience that. Thing is this thread is just a minute part of WTR and the forum is too. Certainly info can be found in any one of the follwing pages:

that certainly is a lot of pages devoted to Russia...and this thread isn't even listed there. If people would post then there would be no response...we are up to 8 pages...of which it seems as though the majority are devoted to arguing wheter or not the content of the thread is relevant or not. And who is contributing and who isn't. Yes there are those who do not offer much on Russia...but perhaps they have already read everything on this site...and enjoy coming here...perhaps WTR is the only way they can experience Russia...well at least for the moment. Let's not forget the Threads are all titled and people can pick and chose what to read...it is the regulars who complain but those looking for specific answers find them and move on...just as I did last year when I was in travel mode.
Personally...and I hope WTR doesn't get offended...but I think the front page can be better laid out...it's pretty repetative...but that is just IMHO |

When do you ever mention anything useful? From day one that I noticed you on this website you entered a thread and promptly began insulting BC and myself. Let me know when you stop being a hypocrite so I can take your post seriously. |

Its obvious you dont even read this forum to know who posts what. I certainly have not been the one responsible for posting the majority of political issues on this board not pertaining to Russia, so zip it!!! |

| all politics are world issues...it amazes me here that counries like russia want tourism but then attack those who visit because of the politics of thier country. And we americans do it to. I like talking politics and before I visit any country...I pay attention to the politics of that country...come on who wants to visit St Pete if there are mass protests going on there at the time. |

I would advise anyone against traveling to France in the next 2 weeks. In 6 days they will be voting for a new president and if the guy who downgraded the immigrants and rather large muslim population in the past gets elected there will be riots again.
Russia will seem like Cancun in comparison. |

That would be lovely. But then, you see, Ken would show up and start asking questions about Russia thus confusing everyone. I do not know. I like the idea but at the same time I think we should create "The Canadian Colonies" forum and talk about Russia there.
What do YOU think? |

Let's reinstate the original topic: "Is it normal for russian women to give compliments to men?"
There's point arguing with Fire_G. She will start screaming "hypocricy" when pressed harder - this is her favortite word. |

It is not normal, but more common to hear a woman giving compliments to the guy she likes there than it is in the states. But again, it could be that they do that out of being desperate, from fear to lose the guy.
I rememeber in my younger days while still in Russia it was common for a girl to ask a guy out (or to imply in no uncertain terms this is what she wanted). Since I came here I have always been the one asking women out. They do not lift a finger to let you know they like you even if they do. Pampared princesses. |

I have recieved many compliments from Russian women. The one that takes the longest to get from them is whether you are good looking, or the are attracted to you in a sexual way. They say if you're nice, or polite, but they seem to shy away from personal things right away. Women are more forward than that, in the west. They seem less shy to get into personal subjects quickly. I wonder if they think that's too forward to talk about right away? Are Russian women shy? |
