I find it interesting that in France, the socialists use the color red and the conservatives use the color blue. In the U.S., conservatives (Republicans) use the color red and liberals (Democrats) use the color blue. Don't know if Russian political parties all use red, or some other color.

Colors doesn't mean anything, faschist in Spain used also the blue color. Anyway, comparing French political parties with US ones is not easy, I think that for a US Neo conservative, a French socialist will be considered like a real communist and a French conservative considered like a US Democrat from the left wing

Crabman WayToRussified Joined: 28 Jan 2005 Posts: 401 Location: Middlesex	Posted: Fri May 18, 2007 5:55 pm    Post subject: Isn't the red/blue usage a very recent media creation in the US? - i.e. a means of displaying which way each state's electoral votes went (for Democrat candidate vs. Republican candidate) in the more recent elections. I don't think the respective parties ever picked a colour to represent themselves. When you think about it, I don't think any major US party would ever pick the colour "red" as this would be perceived as anti-American (because of its past association with Communism). Also, it is an incredible oversimplification (even within the US) to equate liberal with Democrat and conservative with Republican.

The USA demographics is transforming and with it so will politics. red...blue it doesn't matter. But if you are liberal then odds are you are a democrat and conservative is Republican. But now more and more Republicans are becoming Independents. Much talk is about how the US is becoming more and more like a western european form of government...what ever that means. But definitely we are becoming a socialist welfare state. The hot issue on the news today is the Immigration Bill...amnesty for some 20 million illegal aliens. Will be interesting to see what unfolds.

I dont believe in this guest worker bullshit, because all it will do is keep underpaid jobs, underpaid. I want that border sealed off, so that no more will continue to pile in. Perhaps my outlook on the whole issue would be completely different if the government was working properly for the best interests of this country, but they arent.

From the L.A. Times 1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10.2 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants working without a green card. 2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens. 3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens 4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal , whose births were paid for by taxpayers. </FONT> 5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally. 6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages. 7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border. 8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal. 9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking. 10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English, 3.9 million speak Spanish. (There are 10.2 million people in L.A. County ). (All of the above are from the Los Angeles Times) Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare. I'd say that in most European countries red is for socialists and left and blue for conservatives and right wing. Quite many European left wing parties (but definitely not democrats) use combination of green and red. Also in some countries conservative and peasant parties use green. In Russia Red represents communists or socialists. And National Bolsheviks with their half-natzi-half-soviet flag, nice little combination of black, red and white...
