I am curious to know if suicide is high among young teenagers in Russia. Does anyone know the average?

Why are you curious to know about that? I have been curious about many things, but suicides was never one of them. When I was growing up, suicides were not very popular Smile

Spicey, I am just curious. I am sure life in Russia has changed a bit since you were a small itty bitty tike.

jo jo - if you are going to Russia looking for a suicide buddy, you won't find one easily. Even though life in Russia is tough for many, suicides are very rare. But the rate is still pretty high - relative to some other countries.

Why don't you do a search on Google instead of asking others. Here it is:

George Carlin talked about suicide quite well:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=n93mcjtB96k&mode=related&search=

And Woody Allen had this dialog in his movie "Play It Again, Sam":

WOODY ALLEN: That's quite a lovely Jackson Pollock, isn't it?
GIRL IN MUSEUM: Yes it is.
WOODY ALLEN: What does it say to you?
GIRL IN MUSEUM: It restates the negativeness of the universe, the hideous lonely emptiness of existence, nothingness, the predicament of man forced to live in a barren, godless eternity, like a tiny flame flickering in an immense void, with nothing but waste, horror, and degradation, forming a useless bleak straightjacket in a black absurd cosmos.
WOODY ALLEN: What are you doing Saturday night?
GIRL IN MUSEUM: Committing suicide.
WOODY ALLEN: What about Friday night?

You are not being very nice. I don't know what you are talking about with a suicide buddy, but thanks for the link anyway. I was asking a question about an serious issue.

I will keep asking for information. Thank you.

My brothers friend commited suicide the other day. Sad I really feel sorry for people who feel that, that is a last resort. Especially when they show no signs of being the sort who would attempt it. Sad

This is a stupid topic going nowhere. All we need now to top this off is for surfguy to come in and announce that he has had more friends than anybody else known to mankind who have suicided in every corner of the globe, and in every way imaginable, but life is still fantastic in the USA,

I thought that this went without saying, didn't it? If you had to talk to him every day, wouldn't you want to off yourself? Laughing

Speaking of suicide, here is the latest update to Microsoft Word. That Bill is thinking of everything, isn't he?
