I agree with Fire Goddess. To listen to Bush Administration rhetoric and Faux News over the last six years, one would think the "evildoers" have it in for us because we have baseball, Wal-Mart, mom, and apple pie. When in fact it has a lot more to do with our meddling in their country's internal business, and imperialistic actions & policies throughout the Middle East over the years. We have no business being over there. Never have, never will. |

What forced them to state their hatred for Americans and anyone against Islam???? It definitely wasnt me! It was my government and their distorted foreign policy, which really has nothing to do with MY way of life. Dont get me wrong here, I am not sitting here trying to say that we should all feel sorry for people who terrorize others, all I am saying is that these people didnt wake up one morning and play "eenie meenie mynee moe", as to which nation they were going to hate. I am not for any kind of terrorism, I am for the "live and let live", policy. |

what made the people of germany "state" their hatred for the jews? declining (well, virtually nonexistent in this case) economic and social structure, desperation, endless propaganda. throw in some social and political underdevelopment, historic struggles, fear of isolation, find yourself a scape goat and you've got an islamic fundamentalist terrorist extremist... whatever.. basically an arab with a rocket launcher. |

What the hell are you talking about? Who's battling the Afghan people? The Taleban started out as Afghans trained in Pakistan. They have little support from the Afghan people. They are most certainly not the "voice" of Afghanistan. At one time they were popular. The Afghan people have had enough of their human rights abuses, and they want them out. |

Let's talk about a small and peaceful European country : Danemark...
Last year a Danish newspaper (Jyllands-Posten) published some Muhammad caricatures to denounce the bad sides of Islam (and not Islam in itself).
I saw by myself those caricatures and most are funny and absolutly not degrading (not like a caricature I saw in A spanish magazine where you can see a caricature of Mary doing a blow job to Jesus).
The result : death threats on journalists, enormous demonstrations of hate against Danemark in ALL muslim countries, attacks of Danish ambassies, Danish products boycott...
All this mess for some caricatures ?
Now what happened in those Muslim countries after Islamists bombings who killed thousands of innocent people in US, Spain, UK, France ?
NOTHING. |
