I'll be going to St. Petersburg from New York in a couple of months. Could anybody suggested where to find the cheapest air fare. So far the lowest I have found was on http://www.cheapair.com/flights/Russia.html for $525. Does anyone know of anything cheaper? This was the best that I have found.

If you really want to save money (but not time!), then maybe you could take a budget flight to Europe, then you can get to Russia overland for about $100 one way.

Otherwise, FYI, a flight from a European country to Russia costs about $300 US return, so if you manage to get to Europe and back for less than $225 you will win in money.

What you have found is pretty rock bottom. Also, if you're flying Aeroflot, you'll have to switch airports in Moskow. Keep that in mind.

Do you have access to the Russian newspapers in NYC (found mostly on Brighton Beach)? Calling some of the travel agents listed in those papers will likely get you a good rate as well, although I am not sure when you're flying.

I think going below $525 in the summer will be tough.
