There are many things you don't understand. Some people have certain preferences. Just like some people love Chinese food, and some people hate it. Some people have great respect for religion and traditions, and some people find it ridiculous and unnecessary. Some people have no problem marrying people of different cultural and ethnic background. And some like to be with the person with common roots and cultural upbringing. It's a matter of preference. It's like being surprised about mostly thin women that are being displayed on the cover of magazines.
In addition, some cultures are less open to meeting people of other cultures. In counties like the US and Canada, and especially in large cities, people grow up in a very diverse, multi-cultural environment where diversity is encouraged. So it's not surprising to see mixed couples. But in many other countries that are less diverse and were historically closed to outside influences, people developed a someone distinct culture and they prefer to meet people of the same or similar culture. |

Don't wait too long, jo jo 7. The biological clock is running. None of us are getting any younger. |

| Ah yes, I remember you mentioned that women launch into motherhood in their 50's there. So you have a few years. |

Nikir, I am no where near my 50's. I am in shape for children and I am young. I will have 2 children back to back...that is it!
Women are in shape where I live and some women have their last child when they reach their 50's. C'mon now! |

| I think the people who experience mid life crisis, are mostly people who spent the first half of their lives, living a lie. |

What do you define as a mid-life crisis? I think quite a few people get disappointed with their jobs and lives at certain point simply because when you're young you normally have a lot of hopes and aspirations. And then it's a routine day in and day out and it gets boring. Not to mention that when we get older, other bad things are happening to us - health often deteriorates, we don't look as good, etc. So I think the mid-life crisis is to be expected and lies have nothing to do with it. |

true spice...changes are a good thing...and new ideas and dreams, and experiences happen all the time...if they don't then probably the person is a crisis |

| surfguy - nothing is good about getting older. I would rather stay young. It's true that some young people are kind of lost in life and don't know what to do (take Fire_G. for example). But still. It's better to be a confused bails agent working out of her apartment than some old dude sitting in the woods in Canada. You can my point - stay young as long as you can. |
