No they are not the same because they are different. If he speaks Russian it can be percepted differently due to regional accent or even because of individual traits of voice. Well... unless you have a strong ground to suspect that guy intentionally spoke Ukrainian to you. |
It was confusing because his English was not good, he said at first he was from Russia then changed it to Kiev, Ukraine....I think he didn't know how to explain it to me.. So far, I have met 3 men from Ukraine and all of them are not very tall.... |

Which part of UA were they from? The North-West, I presume? The North-Westerners, a lot of them, at least, are not even real Ukrainians. Poles and Hungarians for the most part. Some Ukrainians though. That would be the Banderivtzi Nazis. Those all live in the Western parts. They'd get their sorry arses kicked into the mud down South or East. The South-East Ukrainians all speak great, beautiful Russian, are generaly tall, muscular, handsome men, and beautiful, curvy women, that have that awesome accent, in Russian at least, where they say the "g" sound with a little "h", so it comes out like "gh". The guys down there work either in mining, the power-plants, or in the factories (Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, etc. is the industrial heart of Ukraine) |

Not sure, but he said Russia at first...maybe he just lives in Kiev for now....I did not get to personal with him...I didn't want to seem rude...I did mention my friend to him...he tried to talk Russian to me and I totally look like a retard...I could only answer in English... alls well ends well....he was a nice man... |

It depends from their wishes. If they want to drink with men they drink. If they want "girls only" entertainment, they do this.

It is not insult. Just say: "I do not like herring". |

Eat it and then throw up on their floor. Tell them it's an American custom after saying, "The meal was great". |

After you've done that, why not continue in the ambassadorial footsteps of your fellow American and moan endlessly about the toilet paper, mosquitoes, transport and anything else that differs from your homeland, before asking directions to the nearest monastary.
Some people should never leave their houses. You are two such people. |

Ambassadorial footsteps? that's a new one. Oh BTW, I will "leave" the house at the end of April to St. Pete..hopefully there is pink toilet paper in their home and it's not a monastary..I plan on living it up in St. Pete. To assure you, "I" will have a good time...

Associating any part of your anatomy with the word royal stretches ones imagination beyond reasonable limits.
The rest of your blabber is lost on me I'm afraid. |

| I don't know why but when a Russian drinks Vodka from a bottle he takes a sip and sniffs his sleeve, sips and sniffs. That's the difference between drunkereds in Russia and other places. |

It is just because he doesn't have a piece of rye bread or salted cucumber or caviare sandwich at that moment. Some people continue this behavior even when they can eat caviar by spoon. |
