I am planning to visit Russia with my wife next month.
Only ten days, unfortunately; then I must pack all the visits...
I know that this isn't the right way to visit countries, but this is the best I can do...
I want to see Moscow, St. Pitersburg and at least part of the golden ring...

The idea would be to go and see Vladimir, Suzdal, Rostow and Pereslavl...
It appears feasible to go to Vladimir and Suzdal and to find one hotel there, but i can't find a direct bus nor train from there to Rostov...
I know that exist the M8 route from Ivanovo to Rostov, but I cannot find direct train or bus...
I can't make the full tour, because I don't have enough time, nor I can spend more or less a full day on the bus, moving to Rostov...
If I can't find a short path from Vladimir or Suzdal to Rostov I will be forced to cut Rostow.
Any suggestion?

The Golden Ring is not on the way from Moscow to St. Petersburg. So, in case you want to visit some towns on the Golden Ring, maybe it's best to go to Vladimir and Suzdal and then go back to Moscow and take a train to St. Petersburg. Suzdal is only 1 hour from Vladimir and Vladimir is only 3 hours from Moscow. This might be the fastest way to St. Petersburg.

This was clear, the plan is visit the ring, return to Moscow, get the night train to St. Petersburg...

Ok... this is the minimal plan... Mine was one attempt to optmize the transfers to fit also Rostov in the tour...
I assume that a direct bus from Suzdal to Rostov does not exist...

There are several implicit question...
First question: In doubt, better to cut one day in St. Peterburg or cut one ring's town?

Second question: disregarding the expense, if I rent a car, I can really optimize the ring visit?
(there is the pickup and the return time to take into account...)
Is pratically feasible? (Traffic, Different rules, difficulties to find roads and places...)
Taking into account the expense... Sad
How much it will cost 3 days one small car, late return... about 200 Km/day...
I have made some search and I have got only one quote, with hard restriction on car return time...

Any suggestion is welcome...

Yes, perhaps renting a car is a good idea. You would need to get some maps of the area and you would be able to get from Suzdal to Rostov in this case.

All you need is an international driving license, credit card, passport to rent a car. A Russian car could cost as low as $20 US per day (see http://www.aventa-rentacar.ru/ or http://www.prokatauto.ru/prokat/ - all in Russian, but the first has an office at Paveletsky railway station and they both offer lowest prices). You can also try brand-name companies like Avis, Hertz etc., see http://www.waytorussia.net/Moscow/GettingAround.html for their addresses.

To rent one russian car is intersting option...
The cars are recent/new or worn out?
I don't speak/read russian hten I can't go directly to the suggested companies, I need some help...
Your organization can arrange the rent? I know that you don't rent cars, but you can help (obviously for a fee..)?
If you can't help, can you suggest one person to comunicate in english by email, to arrange all?
I will arrive to Moscow (SVO) July 16, at 16:20, with a Lufthansa fly.
The idea is: get the car directly to the airport, go directly to Vladimir and sleep there. Nex day start the tour. I would return the car in Moscow, July 20...
I have got quotes from Avis and Herz... expensive...

If you prefer this conversation can continue on private e-mail.
I am registered in your site, then you have my e-mail.

Tank you for the help
