Jo Jo, for heaven's sake, why should there be any special hatred toward American women? I really can't imagine why... I have been to Saint Petersburg and to Moscow by myself. In Russian bus, in Russian train (with platskartnyj vagon - errr... does someone know how platskart is translated into Russian - I've no idea ) I've never had any problems, never seen anyone getting robbed . Also I've been there on my own at the time when I knew relatively little Russian .

Ugly women blend into the background and do not become targets to hooligans, if you are a beautiful woman, you will be approached by many men, some good, and some bad, but really key is its easier for women to get by even with a skin head. Men on other hand not so lucky. Hope it helps?
