Who thinks ordinary users, not just mods should have a say in who's to be banned or not? Who thinks we should have polls like this one, where people can vote "for" or "against" banning a particular user? Who thinks that the current rules, where mods can ban anyone they bloody wish is wrong? I know what it's like. I have been banned from a "Topix.com" forum site before, simply for standing up for a new user who was being bullied off the forum by a moron from Australia, and his friend, "Jackass"-the Administrator! (the nickname is real!  ) From what I saw here, the Moderators don't even ban people who really deserve to be banned. I was going through old threads, just browsing for fun, when i stumbled upon this:

Someone named Xela was typing all this racist bullshit about Slavic/Russian people. From what I saw he's been on this site for quite some time, saing things like this, I assume, and I would also assume that no one banned him, or even warned him that what he is saing is racist. From this assunme that Moderators were, obviously not doing their jobs, going after people they, personnally, didn't like instead... Is that true? |

The mods actually tried banning him once, but when a mod attempts to ban anyone, it is simply by deleting his posts.
Only Admin has the power to ban anyone.
The result of a ban is usually because of complaint from users. I suppose the most famous case was Winston Wu... there was a poll on whether to ban him, lots of debates, and lots of cleanup as a result.
What an idiot Xela is/was. But he's hardly online these days so the ban was not followed through. |

I agree that admins should have the power to ban anyone they consider is consistently not adding value to their enterprise.
Would you put up with some of the crap that has gone on for so long here that it has almost become part of the culture. I know I certainly wouldn't if I were trying to build a business, and pitch an image.
What's so difficult about sticking to the topic, or starting a new one.
And it helps to remember why the R is in WTR. |

| True... I guess it's all in the type of a person the particular Admin or Moderator is. I mean, some of them realy fight for order and fairness on their sites. Others though, are plain bullies. They attack, and ban people to make themselves feel big, and powerfull. That's the kind I was dealing with on Topix... Luckily, I don't think WTR Mods are like that. |

| Well we also had a very nationalist russki named Sirey06 and in a lot of ways you are much like him Ruskii...very nationalistic. I think he got banned too...well if I remember right. He was a bit extreme but Xela sure got under his skin. BCBUD tended to agree with xela quite often and loved to instigate fights...he got warned though and then well things calmed down around then. I think during those times Nikir...you were quite normal...but you certainly set fire g off...as did Spice...but Spice actually came out quite honorable here last week...and at least had some intergity...I give hime a lot of credit for doing so. But I gotta say BCBUD and you Nikir are also two of the culprits who helped to create the problems at hand and are no way exempt or innocent to what goes on here...and to be here now saying how things are better and people should be banned...well I know BC you are not so big on banning per say...but still...you guys should watch out too...because the conversations I've had...you guys are also being watched! And me too...but I recognize this and decided that hey it can be or not be...lot to do in life still that's for sure. |

Well I mean seeing how it has gone on for so long...part of that culture which you have created. It would be pretty lame not to have women on the site...thank god we have perspectives from people like Jojo, Daria, Krastulya, Media Shark, Yuri's Girl, and yes Fire G. They all make WTR a much better place and definitely give the women's perspective on this place...russia...you...etc. etc. See if you or anyone else didn't buy into any of this...then you wouldn't feel the need to on a daily basis respond. Nobody ever threatened to ban me, and I only saw you use the word home to refer to this place. And you're still doing exactly the same aggravating things you used to do before, to flame threads and cause fights, so perhaps you should be banned for flaming, pursuant to the new rules. You haven't posted any useful travel tips for some time now, and you said you were leaving to go to another forum. I am disappointed in you for not keeping your word. Please get up from your computer and go outside for a couple hours. |

This forum has been much worse. Penderghast and Scarlette were the worst.
But it seems that there is enforcement and then lack of enforcement.
You have the rules. You have the power, just enforce it.
But it is hundred times better than before. Trolls like Winston Wu, Vitali, Penderghast, and others were just here to piss people off and that is their way to have fun. |
