There isn't much of the winter in Sochi; it mostly rains. But you can take a 40 minutes ride up to the mountains. That is where Olympics are going to happen.
I used to go to Kislovodsk ( North Caucasus). That is where I was born. I have my grandma living there, so that is where I used to spend my winters. |

Thats the same as Vancouver. There is no snow there, either. The Olympics, for the most part, will be in Whistler, a ski resort just outside of Van. The wilderness is great. We are lucky to have so much of it in Canada. I can't imagine living in a place that has no wilderness.
I remember when I was a kid in Ontario, the winters were the really fun season. We played hockey, went skiing. I'm guessing it was a lot like that for your family, assuming you have brothers. |

I have one brother. He is a 23 y.o. biker. He has his own garage where he builds motorcycles. My brother is going into his last year of the Engineering program in University. |

Actually, yes, it is kind of... addicting. |

Yep, in Irkutsk too, we had quite a winter... But my brother was kind of a... well... a loser... he didn't know how to skate... I tried to teach him... that ended with a cast on his leg. Jeez! |

Like Nikir said, if this place is "home" to you, it's a sad statement on your life, and you should seek some therapy. IMHO |

You see, I don't want to flood other threads with my questions, so I moved it over here. Never mind, BC. Tell me about your vacation. |
Well, it was nothing too exciting. I went to an area I used to live, where I built, and sold a few houses. I helped build a few, as well, like the one I posted in the other thread. We played guitar, went to a few parties, I took my boat with me, so we could cruise around on the lake. It was a relaxing time. Smoked a few fatties. Had a few beers,( in my regular life I don't drink), and generally, just laid around. Was a nice break. Winter is the best though, I get lots of personal time in the winter. |
but on the nicer note...BC-sounds like a good vacation you had... |

Well, if people have a problem with me using such an inappropriate word like "home", please get over it. Frankly, I don't care. There are more rediculous words being used here then just me saying "home".
If you, guys think I can be your next target...good luck there. |

Oh, yes. This is something I know very well . I've been to few of this kind of weddings.
I went to a huge wedding in Krasnodar. There was three hundred people invited, well, of course six hundred showed up. Anyway, it was so much fun. Russian weddings are unique, so are Russian Birthdays, New Year Eves, Victory Days...etc.
There was a gentlemen with an axe running after his wife all evening. Bride got so smashed that she couldn't even remember her in-laws' names (that was a bad start). Anyway...it's a long story, but I do remember every bit of it. It was so much fun. |

Actually I never saw you use the word "home" Dasha. I was referring to Surfguy when I said that. You don't quite spend as much time as him here. But Surfguy seems to enjoy flaming, perhaps he should be banned. I meant no offense to you, you simply aren't here enough to relate that word to your presence here. My apologies if you were offended. |
