You have Goblins performing eye surgery? Now that's scary. At my house, the only things the Goblins do are steal my wallet and car keys. Laughing Laughing

PS These thumbnails don't do it justice. Here is a larger version. I thought I'd win Victor's avatar contest with this one. Laughing

aren't BC's eyes usually more red? Jojo's neck isn't red...which is why she doesn't sleep with red necks. BC look up the origins of the term red neck...you might learn something. The black equivalent of a red neck is the word beginning with the letter N. Every country has it's form of a red neck...infact in Canada...most definitely you qualify.

Ducky's is a true redneck. Ducky has an old car that doesn't run in front of his property, he has a mullet, no running water, smokes weed and chews tobacco, has girlfriends with names such as, Billie May, Barbara Jean, Edna Lynn and drives a pickup with Billy Ray Cyrus music blaring. Laughing

Ok I looked it up. This is the American usage of the word

Quote:
A popular etymology says that the term derives from such individuals having a red neck caused by working outdoors in the sunlight over the course of their lifetime. The effect of decades of direct sunlight on the exposed skin of the back of the neck not only reddens fair skin, but renders it leathery and tough, and typically very wrinkled and spotted by late middle age. Similarly, some historians claim that the term redneck originated in 17th century Virginia, because indentured servants were sunburnt while tending plantation crops.

Another popular etymology is that the term was originally used by African Americans as a pejorative for white people in general, in the same manner that peckerwood and ofay were coined by blacks.

Once again, you and Stephanie show how uneducated you both are. There is no black equivalent for redneck. It is generally used in Canada to describe uneducated farmers in rural areas of Alberta, and the prairie provinces.

I see your responses are down to your usual standards, Stephanie. Keep up the good work, we all need a laugh, once in a while. I've seen more grownup responses from ten year old kids. Laughing

Did you hear that in Coff's Harbour, Australia, a man known only a Nikir received the first brain swap, between an ape, and a human. After receiving the ape brain, Nikir doubled his productivity in his law office. Ironically, the first case he argued after returning was a lawsuit, launched by the ape, who received Nikir's brain. It seems that the ape is only able to masturbate, and poke himself in the eyes, although he seemed quite happy that he could do both at the same time.

Ontario reactor restarts; isotope shipments expected within days
Reactor at centre of medical isotope shortage
Last Updated: Sunday, December 16, 2007 | 5:45 PM ET
CBC News

An Ontario nuclear reactor resumed operations Sunday and new supplies of medical isotopes will be ready for distribution within days to ease a worldwide shortage, the Atomic Energy of Canada says.

The Crown corporation said its National Research Universal reactor in Chalk River started up at 3:44 a.m. ET Sunday, a few days after Parliament pushed through legislation to get it back online as soon as possible.

The facility was originally shut down for a week of maintenance on Nov. 18, but the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission refused to allow it to resume production until a host of safety issues were resolved.

However, the Chalk River facility produces about two-thirds of the world's supply of radioisotopes — nuclear material essential for medical imaging and diagnostic scans for fractures, cancers and heart conditions.

The shutdown created a global shortage of radioisotopes, which can't be stockpiled because they have a short shelf life.

The AECL said Sunday that new supplies of medical isotopes would be processed and ready for distribution within four days.

The Conservative government's bill, which was passed by MPs on Tuesday, effectively bypassed the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission's order for the reactor to stay closed until the safety concerns were addressed. Late Wednesday, the Senate passed the legislation.

On Friday, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said he had accepted the resignation of Michael Burns, chair of the AECL, and appointed Glenna Carr, a former Ontario senior bureaucrat, to replace him.

...wow, that's pretty major news! I see orders for radioisotopes frequently from my research labs...I didn't know Canada was such a large producer of these. It's true they have a short shelf life. When we order them, they have to arrive here within 2 or 3 days. Perkin Elmer is a large distributor of these to medical centers across the US.

I don't know why, but I would have thought Russia to be a big producer of these too...anything having to do with nuclear science.
