| Just your opinion: who should we exclude from the forum to avoid any more inflammatory comments and useless rubbish? |

You're expecting that people should point fingers and name who should be banned in an open public post?
Not a kosher idea.
It's your website--you decide who is inflammatory, full of rubbish, and posting inconsequential drivel. That's your perogative and I'm sure you are savvy enough to separate the weeds from the flowers. |

exclude
-flamebaits (insults, name-calling, threats)
-potential flames
-flamers
-whiners who complain that the above are excluded
-off topic posts in all sections except Talk Lounge
Chatting is fine if it is confined to Talk Lounge. Not anywhere else. But the problem is that any bloody topic in any folder goes off topic after 3 pages.
If you stick to the above you will find that there is a lot of rubbish to be rid off. |

WTR, I have to agree with EX Pat. I think that is not a kosher question because there are some who do not like me because I am an female American (it showed) and automatically will be pointed the finger. I think that is an unfair question. You own this site, right? If so, then you should be the one to decide, not us.
How come you do not give out warnings in the PM's first before deciding to ban someone?
Why not use the "3 strikes your out," idea? After the 3rd warning then ban them. Just a suggestion.
I have noticed that there are not too many mods working on this site lately, where is Zach? He always kept the insults down and locked posts if it got out of hand.

| How about excluding (or suspending) anyone making more than 10 posts a day (or a lesser number)? Perhaps you could average the limit over a month or so (i.e. anyone making more than 300 posts in a month is shown the door). Exceptions could be made for truly informative or helpful postings that for some reason require multiple postings. The problem, IMHO, is the amount of mindless drivel that is added to many of the legitimate topics. |

Crabman, how can a ligitimate conversation in the talklounge or threads like the travel section be limited to 10 replies? When a person is in the middle of a decent conversation or wanting to know information, I am not going to count how many replies I have made or how many I received.
I don't think that is feasible. Just my thoughts. |

I would like to nominate for dismissal, people who say things like
| Quote: | | Why don't you stick to things you know, like pumping septic tank, and shagging moose? | especially when the same person has never provided info, or asked a question about Russia. Perhaps the people that chime in and encourage such rudeness should be considered as well. IMHO |

And I stand by it! I was (gently, I thought) chastising you for hijaking yet another thread. I invite the admin./moderators to look at that thread and read my full post. Someone asked for a little help with a translation. It was provided. You then offered some totally unsolicited advice (quoting some mindless '70s pop poster), and then look at what happened to the thread. Unlike you, I have never been vulgar, threatening or just plain mean. Yet I wouldn't nominate you to be banned.
If the admin. feels that I should be banned, I will, of course, respect that and gracefully leave. Unlike a few "regulars", I don't use this place as a second home. I assure you that it won't be the worst thing that has happened to me today.

Are we not adults here? Voting to kick people off when everyone of us has been offensive...come on now people...no one here is any better than the next guy. And Moderators...try doing your job...that's what you volunteered your services for. Mediashark...I know exactly your feelings for the past couple of months and to come back now and say some rules/guidelines as you just listed...hey don't you think you should have been more attentative? And that goes for all the moderators. Ok everyone..."show me where you live" "I love this song" etc etc did we not get along and compliment each other in not only these threads but some of the others too, and what about the time when we were all chatting...see the thing is...we are all trying to say how each one of us is the better WTR user (teacher's pet) thing is we are all human and love to debate, argue, attack, mock and promote. Everyone of us. And this is ok...it's a fact of being human...not every thing is honky dory...the world isn't always pleasantville. Moderating starts with us the individuals...the thing is...if we can't stand the heat then perhaps it's time to get out of the kitchen. The fact is IMHO this site is for people who are going to Russia or have been to Russia or are coming from Russia or who live in Russia...in all case just talking about Russia is the number one goal of the Forum. Meeting russians or Russians meeting non russians promotes dialogues which then opens our world to eachother so that we all can learn from each other. And that includes good and bad. Each person has a unique experience in life that we all can learn from and hopefully appreciate...and for WTR these experience should/must include Russia. If you have nothing to offerus pertaining to Russia then yes this site is not for you and spare us all your presence. Now Jojo wants to go to Russia...so this is a site for her then...Daria is from russia...this is the site for here...Nikir is Russian...has been there...this is the site for him...same for spice...Ruskii etc...Starryeyed...and Yuri's girl have russian boyfriends...this is the site for them. Krastulya has a russian hubby and has been to russia...this is the site for her...I have plans to return to russia...this is the site for me...Darth Vader-just returned also...this is the site for him...Mediashark lived in and was married to a russian...this is the site for her...What I am getting at is this:
If you have never been too, or are planning to visit, or not even interested in learning the language...then perhaps WTR is not the site for you and the rest of us should be spared your presence here. But that said is it really up to me or any of us to decide this?
Ok and as far as understanding any society/culture...Politics, Arts, Religion, Geography, History, commerce, etc. etc. These all need to be discussed...well in order for us to understand. And there is good and bad associated with all of them.
Ok users...step back and think about what it is you want...what it is you offer...and why it is you are here? And decide whether your actions here are positive or not? And rember this...some times a positive can result from a negative and visa versa |

Wow, I didn't come back for a while and it seems that Dmitry decided to do the house work LOL
By the way Surfguy, when I was a student I had a girlfriend whose grandfather was Russian , it counts ?
More seriously, Dmitry don't care if you are Russian or not, if your husband/wife or girlfriend is Russian, he has only in mind his business.
He has probably data that anybody here has and if he thinks that a forum member can be a danger for WTR brand he will ban him for sure.
For the rest, sorry, I will not point anyone here, it is not my business...
2 Crabman : your last paragraph, I think exactly the same. |

And good thoughts they are. If I may be so bold as to interpret what Dmitry is saying, he doesn't want people making rude statements and trying to flame threads, because they have some strange need for attention, even though it's negative. You have never been rude to anyone here, so I see no need for you to justify your presence here, or the amount of time you spend here.
I stand by my last post. Is it necessary for someone to make posts about beastiality, or deviant sexual behaviour, or call women stupid on a public forum? I think not. My vote stands. And I'm not going to do what a few people here do, namely, run around causing trouble in PMs, because they don't have the parts to say things in the open. |

Возможно, если я пишу все мои ответы на русском языке, я могу сказать, что я имею право быть здесь? |

It's an admin decision really, to exclude those that you feel don't drive your site in the direction that you want it to go.
The data is all there to be analysed, asking members will just create another outpouring of self justification.
There has been more than enough of those lately. |
